Lady Gaga delivered an explosive greatest hits medley at the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show. The pop chameleon tore through “Poker Face,” “Born This Way,” “Telephone,” “Just Dance,” “Million Reasons” and “Bad Romance,” assisted by a stage-full of backing dancers and illuminated by a sky-full of starry drones. On the Charts: A Tribe Called Quest Score First Number One in 20 Years
Twenty years and three months after A Tribe Called Quest last topped the Billboard 200 with Beats, Rhymes and Life, the hip-hop group returned to the Number One spot with their “final” album We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. We Got It From Here…, a sendoff to the group’s late Phife Dawg, sold 135,000 total copies in its debut week, giving A Tribe Called Quest its second Number One album. Besides Beats, Rhymes and Life and We Got It From Here…, the group’s only other Top Five album, 1998’s The Love Movement – ATCQ’s last LP before their long hiatus – peaked at Number Three. Anurag Kashyap Calls Government ‘Fascist’ Over Its Handling Of Student Protests Against CAA
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Monday called the Narendra Modi's government "fascist" over the police crackdown on the students of Jamia Milia and Aligarh Muslim University following their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The police entered Jamia Millia Islamia University after a protest against the amended Citizenship Act spiralled out of control on Sunday evening. Forty people, including students, policemen and firemen, were injured as violence erupted during the protest. Kashyap, who had quit the micro-blogging site in August, returned on the microblogging site, saying he cannot stay "silent any longer". "This has gone too far... (I) can't stay silent any longer. Steve Wynne’s Strawberry Blond Moves Into Comedy With Super Best Quality Video Productions
Strawberry Blond, the British production company run by former Disney and Warner Bros exec Steve Wynne, is moving into comedy by backing a Bristol-based business. Super Best Quality Video Productions is run by former UKTV and Comedy Central commissioner Joe McVey and backed by The Playlist producer. The company will specialize in scripted and non-scripted comedy. McVey was most recently commissioning editor at BBC Studios-backed UKTV, where he worked on shows including Sharon Horgan-exec produced Women on the Verge and formats such as Hypothetical and Judge Romesh. Priot to that, he has worked at Viacom’s Comedy Central in the UK, and producers Tiger Aspect, Roughcut and Objective. The TRP/BARC ratings for Week 49 (November 30-December 6, 2019) are out. Kundali Bhagya is back on the top spot while Yeh Jaadu Hai Jinn Ka has dropped to the second spot. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Dance Plus 5 and Choti Sarrdaarni have witnessed jumps. Indian Idol 11 is out of TRP race while Kasautii Zindagii Kay has re-entered the chart after a long time. Among channels, Star Plus, SAB TV and Colors TV have retained their top three spots. While Zee TV has managed to occupy the fourth place, Sony TV has dropped to the fifth spot. Kumkum Bhagya & Kundali Bhagya While Kumkum Bhagya has dropped to the fifth spot, its spin-off Kundali Bhagya has returned to the top spot.
