EXCLUSIVE : Action-horror The Curse Of Wolf Mountain , featuring genre icons Danny Trejo and Tobin Bell in the cast, has been acquired by Uncork’d Entertainment for a U.S. digital and DVD release in May. Keli Price ( Just Swipe ) both wrote and stars in the horror while David Lipper , who also features in the cast, directs. Price plays a man who starts to have vivid dreams about his parents’ death and decides to return to the remote mountain spot where they were killed, with his brother and his brother’s family. Further cast members include Eddie McClintock ( The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers ) and Fernanda Romero, alongside Trejo and Bell. EXCLUSIVE: Vertigo Films is partnering with its ‘ Britannia ’ team Tom Butterworth and David Morrissey for The Dirty Squad , a new original drama series on based on the first exposé of corruption within the London Metropolitan Police. The news comes fresh after Deadline revealed that Sky had canceled epic fantasy historical drama Britannia after Season 3’s cliffhanger finale. The Dirty Squad , which is written by showrunner Butterworth ( Gangs of London ) from an idea of Morrissey’s ( The Walking Dead ), will examine corruption at the heart of the Met Police during the porn boom of the 1970s. EXCLUSIVE: Looks like everyones favorite wisecracking superhero is being joined in the MCU by some old friends as sources tell Deadline Karan Soni and Leslie Uggams are joining star Ryan Reynolds in the next Deadpool sequel for Marvel. Soni and Uggams played fan favorites Dopinder and Blind Al that were in the first two installments of the blockbuster series. They join Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and the newest additions of the cast Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. Shawn Levy is on board to direct, with Paul Wernick & Rhett Reese returning to pen the script. Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin wrote a previous draft. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will join Reynolds and Levy as producers. This will mark the first Deadpool film in which Marvel Studios will work hand in hand with Reynolds and Team Deadpool. EXCLUSIVE: The BFI is to involve Bectu with its Skills Task Force after being criticized for the “disappointing” decision to initially exclude the union. Deadline understands Bectu will play a role with the Task Force going forwards. Chaired by former Amazon Studios Europe boss Georgia Brown, the Task Force was unveiled earlier today to address major skills shortages in the UK film and TV sector over the next five years. The 20-plus delegates sitting on the body includes streamers, U.S. studios, UK broadcasters and a number of trade bodies, but has no union representation. The group has met once already without Bectu. Roach, who last directed Bombshell , the expose about Roger Ailes and the predation of women aspiring for on air jobs at Fox News, is the director of blockbuster franchises Austin Powers and Meet The Parents . Roach is an EP and directed all eight episodes of the limited series HIgh Desert for Apple TV+, and he’s also working on F*cked Up College Dream, inspired by his own experiences of not sleeping as a freshman at Stanford, because of the anxiety of not measuring up. A Disney spokesperson has confirmed to Deadline that Ike Perlmutter is out at the company. Note, Permutter oversaw the consumer products division of Marvel, and isn’t part of the Kevin Feige-led Marvel Studios. Perlmutter’s departure comes amid Disney cutting 7K jobs in a massive overhaul of its employee corps that’s part of $5.5 billion cost-cutting manuever to position the Mouse House even more for the streaming obsessed entertainment era. Permutter’s Marvel Entertainment will be folded into other parts of the Disney corporate umbrella. Perlmutter’s oversight included comic book publishing (which reportedly earns $40M-$60M annually), as well as game licensing and arena shows. The company’s SundanceTV has renewed Hilarie Burton Morgan ’s It Couldn’t Happen Here and has also ordered two new series as it ramps up its True Crime Story franchise. It Couldn’t Happen Here returns for a second season, hosted by One Tree Hill and The Walking Dead star Burton Morgan. Separately, it has ordered True Crime Story: Citizen Detective and Crimes of Entitlement (w/t). The three series will air on SundanceTV, AMC+ and SundanceNow.
