You started editing this just as the pandemic was hitting. What was it like to watch this vibrant portrait of New York as the city started shutting down? On March 13th, as I was leaving a screening room where we were looking at rough cuts, I was told there was a lockdown. This was a Friday. We were supposed to show two episodes to Fran on Monday or Tuesday. So it was like, “Ok, how long is this going to take? I have to postpone her screening?” They were about 80 percent done at that point; the rest of it had to be completed via FaceTime or Zoom. At one point, we were able to get clearance to go to a sterilized editing room, where everyone was socially distant and masked, and finish everything. I think that was in the summer? ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ Continues To Fall With $3M In Third Weekend Amid Pandemic & U.S. Capitol Woes
Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman 1984 in its third weekend continued to emulate the legs of a horror movie, down -45% with $3M at 2,218 theaters and a running B.O. of $32.6M. It’s quite clear this movie isn’t going to make the money that Tenet did stateside at $58M and we knew that all along as 60% of all movie theaters are shutdown, including No. 2 chain Regal (Pennsylvania and Colorado reopened this past weekend I heard). Adding further insult to injury: I hear that after a dismal holiday period some movie theaters have decided to close down, and are skipping paying Warners on WW1984; that’s how bad things are.
