Netflix looks to be reuniting with some familiar faces as sources tell Deadline the streamer has come on to Joe and Anthony Russo ’s next directing feature The Electric State, which has Millie Bobby Brown set to star. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely adapted the script, with the Russos and Mike Larocca producing for AGBO. Chris Castaldi and Patrick Newall are also producing. Rumors surfaced earlier this year that Chris Pratt was in talks to co-star. While a deal hasn’t closed, sources say Pratt remains talks to board the project. The film is based on adaptation of the illustrated novel by Simon Stålenhag and is set in a retro-futuristic past, where an orphaned teenager (Brown) traverses the American West with a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother. Claws executive producer/showrunner Janine Sherman Barrois has signed a new, exclusive multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. Under the pact, Sherman Barrois will continue to run Claws , produced by WBTV’s Warner Horizon Scripted Television, as well as develop new projects for the studio. Sherman Barrois boarded Claws in the pilot stage under her previous overall deal at WBTV. The Florida nail salon dramedy, starring Niecy Nash and Carrie Preston, was a breakout for TNT, ranking as its highest rated series in the adults 18-49 demographic. Season 2 premieres June 10. Sherman Barrois was a graduate of the Warner Bros. Writers’ Workshop, which launched her career writing for comedies like The Jamie Foxx Show and The PJs before she shifted to the drama side with runs as a co-exec producer on Third Watch and executive producer on ER. EXCLUSIVE : Alchemy Entertainment has signed actor Corinne Massiah ( 9-1-1 ) for management. Massiah has starred opposite Angela Bassett and Peter Krause on 9-1-1 since the Fox series’ first season. In the popular first responder procedural created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, which returns for its sixth season on September 19, she plays May Grant, the daughter of Bassett’s LAPD field sergeant Athena Grant-Nash. The actress made her television debut with a 2012 appearance on CSI: NY and followed it up with a few additional guest-star turns before landing her first major recurring role on the ABC series Mistresses , which she was on for four seasons.
