Black Panther kicked off 2018 with a bang for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and now the focus has shifted to Infinity War, which also features much of the Black Panther cast. Since it was such a success, talks of Black Panther 2 started up right away and many wondered if Ryan Coogler would be signing back on to direct the sequel. Now, in a new interview, the Russo Brothers seemingly confirm that the director is returning to the MCU. In a new interview promoting Infinity War, the Russo Brothers were asked about who has seen the final cut of the movie all the way through. To keep from spoiling anything, the cast and crew won't be able to see Avengers 3 until the world premiere in Hollywood on Monday, April 23rd. However, there have been some exceptions. Avengers: Infinity War finally hits theaters next week, but some fans are already looking forward to what films will come in Marvel’s Phase 4. It is known that James Gunn and Jon Watts are returning to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the untitled Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel respectively, but nothing official has been confirmed regarding the all but guaranteed sequel to Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther. But in regards to a Black Panther sequel, Avengers: Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo may have hinted that Coogler will be returning to Wakanda to direct the follow-up to his cultural phenomenon. It was announced Thursday that Coogler, 31, is joining the 2018 Time 100, as well as Fortune magazine’s list of 2018’s World’s 50 Greatest Leaders. In making both annual lists, Coogler joins the likes of national leaders, including Donald Trump, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong Un, Shinzo Abe and Justin Trudeau, as well as such headliners as Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Mark Benioff, Jeff Bezos, Oprah Winfrey, Jimmy Kimmel, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and the mass shooting survivors from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
