EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Studios ’ forthcoming George Clooney -directed adaptation of The Tender Bar based on the memoir by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer J.R. Moehringer has rounded out the cast with Sondra James ( Joker ), Max Martini ( Sgt. Sony Music Invests in a $15 Million Round for Livestreaming Platform Maestro

Livestreaming platform Maestro announced on Tuesday that it has closed a $15 Million Series B investment round, courting Sony Music Entertainment — the second largest of the “big three” music labels — along with Twitch co-founder Kevin Lin and several venture capital firms as investors. Chinese technology company NetEase, Acronym Venture Capital and Moonwell Capital, founded by former Activision Blizzard executives also joined in the round. Maestro has raised $22 million to date. As concerts remain on hold, livestreaming has grown increasingly competitive , for artists and livestreaming platforms alike. Sony is the latest major music company to put cash into the livestreaming market, joining Live Nation, which recently bought a majority stake in Joel and Benji Madden’s livestreaming platform Veeps — along with competing record company Universal Music, which invested in Big Hit Entertainment’s platform VenewLive earlier this year. CAS Awards Nominations: ‘Trial Of The Chicago 7’, ‘Sound Of Metal’ & ‘Mank’ Among Pics Vying For Sound Mixing Trophies

The Cinema Audio Society is out with the nominees for its 57th annual CAS Awards for outstanding achievement in sound mixing. The seven categories spanning film and TV from 2020, with the virtual trophy show is set for Saturday, April 17. In the film categories, the Live Action prize will be a battle among Mank, Sound of Metal, The Trial of the Chicago 7 and a pair of Tom Hanks-led pics: Greyhound and News of the World. Vying in the Animated category are Disney/Pixar’s Onward and Soul and sequels The Croods: A New Age, Trolls Would Tour and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. Up for the Documentary prize are David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet, My Octopus Teacher, The Social Dilemma and music docs The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart and Zappa. Jagame Thandhiram: The Dhanush Project Is Not Getting A Netflix Release On March 26

Jagame Thandhiram , the Dhanush starring mass entertainer which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, is all set to release on Netflix soon. Recently, it was rumoured that the project is releasing on March 26, 2021. However, the sources close to Jagame Thandhiram have now denied the reports, thus putting an end to the speculations. The makers had officially confirmed the Netflix release of the Dhanush-Karthik Subbaraj project, by releasing the much-awaited official teaser. As per the reports, the team has not finalised the Netflix release date of Jagame Thandhiram so far . If things follow as planned, the release date of the highly anticipated project will be officially announced in a few days. ‘Blade Runner 2049’s Roger Deakins Finally Gets His Cinematography Oscar In 14th Try

UPDATED with video: In his 14th go-round, Roger Deakins has finally won the Best Cinematography Oscar, scoring the victory Sunday for Denis Villeneuve ’s Blade Runner 2049 , the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic. “I guess I’d better say something, or else they’ll give me a jet ski, and I can’t see myself on a jet ski somehow,” Deakins joked in his brief acceptance speech (see it in full above). “I really love my job. I’ve been doing it a long time, as you can see, but one of the reasons I really love it is the people I work wit, both behind the camera and in front of the camera.
