Late Monday evening Los Angeles County health officials announced some long-awaited good news. In a statement, they said the region had reached the required threshold of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 to allow students back into classrooms. “Substantial” Number Of California Counties Will See Less Restrictive Covid-19 Measures Next Week, Says Newsom
California Governor Gavin Newsom was asked on Wednesday if he thinks the entire state might be out of the most restrictive purple tier of his Blueprint for a Safer Reopening by the first day of spring. “Yes,” said the governor, “based on trend lines.” Those trend lines include the numbers in the state’s largest county dropping to the point where schools can reopen for in-person instruction. New Study Says Donald Trump Has Been “Most Effective” In Destroying Press Credibility, Offers Insight On How Media Should Respond
A new study from the Committee to Protect Journalists concludes that President Donald Trump has been effective at destroying the credibility of the press, “dangerously undermining truth and consensus even as the COVID-19 pandemic threatens to kill tens of thousands of Americans.” But the report authored by Leonard Downie Jr., former executive editor of The Washington Post, also sheds some light on where reporters, editors and producers can change perceptions during the Trump era.
