Adele Reveals Why She ‘Went Into Hiding’ After Last Minute Las Vegas Residency Cancellation: ‘I Was Embarrassed’
When Adele took the stage at the 2022 BRIT Awards to perform “I Drink Wine,” a power ballad from her fourth studio album, 30 , she half expected the audience to erupt into booing when she finished – and was surprised when she was instead met with applause. “It felt strange receiving so much love when I’d let people down,” the singer told ELLE in a recent interview that finds her opening up, at length, for the first time about the sudden cancellation of her Las Vegas residency earlier this year. In January, the night before her 24-date residency billed Weekends With Adele was scheduled to begin at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Adele shared a tearful video on social media explaining that the slate of shows would be indefinitely postponed . While she cited Covid-19 and delivery delays as explanations, the fact of the matter was that the show simply wasn’t ready. “There was just no soul in it,” Adele told ELLE. “The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected … [Read more...] about Adele Reveals Why She ‘Went Into Hiding’ After Last Minute Las Vegas Residency Cancellation: ‘I Was Embarrassed’
Mads Mikkelsen On Replacing Johnny Depp In ‘Fantastic Beasts’ And Why Depp “Might” Come Back – Sarajevo
Although Mads Mikkelsen arrived at the Sarajevo Film Festival to receive the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo Award for his outstanding contribution to the art of film, many of the crowd who attended the event’s morning “Coffee With…” event on Monday seemed, rather worryingly, to be fans of the Danish star’s TV work — notably NBC’s cannibal drama Hannibal . Nevertheless, the actor took their questions in his stride as part of a wide-ranging conversation that embraced his early career in Danish indie cinema, his move to the U.S. and the MCU, his affection for Pink Floyd, and his love of football. “I always wanted to make money out of sports,” he quipped. “It never happened.” Speaking of his most recent release, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore , in which he played Gellert Grindelwald, Mikkelsen admitted he’d had concerns about replacing Johnny Depp , who withdrew from the franchise due to his much-publicized court case with ex-wife Amber Heard. He also hinted … [Read more...] about Mads Mikkelsen On Replacing Johnny Depp In ‘Fantastic Beasts’ And Why Depp “Might” Come Back – Sarajevo
‘Flash’ Star Ezra Miller Agrees To Mental Health Treatment As Burglary Court Date Looms
After months of run-ins with the law and a spiraling PR crisis for Warner Bros , Flash star Ezra Miller has decided to seek treatment to counter a self-described “time of intense crisis.” A week after the non-binary identifying Miller was slapped with a burglary charge by Vermont law enforcement, the Justice League alum said today in a statement that “having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment.” “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior,” they added. “I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.” The abrupt move Monday follows at least two months of efforts by Miller’s long time CAA agent, Warner Bros, and other close knit colleagues, friends, and family to encourage them to pursue help. Perhaps tipping the scales, on August 7, Miller received … [Read more...] about ‘Flash’ Star Ezra Miller Agrees To Mental Health Treatment As Burglary Court Date Looms
‘Better Call Saul’ Recap: Chicken a la Kingpin
A review of tonight’s Better Call Saul coming up just as soon as I choose White Heat without interruption over Jaws 3-D with commercials… “And when is it over for you?” -Mr. Varga Late in this week’s episode (“Breathe”), Jimmy calls Mike to arrange some kind of caper involving the expensive Hummel figurines he saw in Mr. Neff’s office during his job interview. This is a callback both to his eldercare work in Season One’s “Alpine Shepherd Boy” and to the idea of Jimmy and Mike as occasional partners, before Better Call Saul had so clearly become two largely separate shows operating under the same title. As Mike gets deeper into the cartel world, while the writers do everything they can to slow-play our beloved Jimmy’s transformation into the utterly amoral Saul Goodman, the two halves feel further apart than ever. Some fans love both equally, some prefer one over the other (I lean towards the Jimmy show, which is more emotionally rich and less hemmed in by events … [Read more...] about ‘Better Call Saul’ Recap: Chicken a la Kingpin
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on ‘SNL’: 3 Sketches You Have to See
One of the biggest challenges for Saturday Night Live on a weekly basis is managing expectations when it comes to the show’s hosts. If a Josh Hutcherson or LeBron James episode turns out to be not-half-bad, we’re all pleasantly surprised and relieved since the bar wasn’t that high. But when a reliable comic dynamo shows up — Justin Timberlake, Alec Baldwin, Melissa McCarthy — hopes get raised to potentially unrealistic proportions, possibly resulting in a perfectly OK episode that ends up feeling disappointing because we expected more. SNL found itself in that uncomfortable position last night when beloved former cast members Tina Fey and Amy Poehler cohosted the final show before Christmas. Both enormously talented, both incredibly game, both there to promote their better-than-average new comedy Sisters , Fey and Poehler were consistently appealing in exactly the way you sorta assumed they would be. Tina pulled out her Sarah Palin; Amy did a little Hillary Clinton, … [Read more...] about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on ‘SNL’: 3 Sketches You Have to See
‘Yellowjackets’ Christina Ricci On Why She Roots For The Underdog — Even If It Bites Her
At 15, Christina Ricci appeared in a PG-13 comedy called Now and Then , in which four middle-aged best friends meet up to reflect on their teenage selves. Nearly 30 years later, Showtime ’s Yellowjackets is that film’s hard-R evil twin, in which the fortysomething members of a New Jersey school’s female football team are haunted by memories of a traumatic plane crash that left them stranded when they were kids. It’s hard to pick a single performance from a terrific ensemble, but Ricci’s portrayal of the twisted Misty Quigley, played in flashback by Sammi Hanratty , is a standout in a series that shocks and surprises. DEADLINE: Why did you want to want to do Yellowjackets ? CHRISTINA RICCI : I loved the idea of it — the premise in general. But then I read the pilot script and the only scene I had in the whole episode was such an incredibly well written, succinct, informative, evocative scene. It was about a character type I’ve always been fascinated by — … [Read more...] about ‘Yellowjackets’ Christina Ricci On Why She Roots For The Underdog — Even If It Bites Her

Quavo and Takeoff Talk Working Together as a Duo Separately From Migos: We ‘Easily Bounce Off’ Each Other
Over the summer, Quavo and Takeoff began pursuing a partnership with each other separately from their Migos third member, Offset . Sitting down for their first official interview as a duo, the pair of rappers revealed that they’ve barely noticed a difference in their creative process without Offset. “The chemistry is the same, and the recording is the same,” Quavo told Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller, hosts of Warner Music Group podcast Rap Radar. “We always normally record by ourselves because we’re so crazy on just dropping new shit on each other.” Quavo and Takeoff don’t mention Offset by name in the trailer previewing the podcast episode set for release on Aug. 18, instead expanding on their creative connection to one another. Even before forming Migos, the trio grew up together in Atlanta and started Migos as a family affair: Quavo is Takeoff’s uncle, and Offset is Quavo’s cousin. “The chemistry has been there since day one,” Takeoff added of working with … [Read more...] about Quavo and Takeoff Talk Working Together as a Duo Separately From Migos: We ‘Easily Bounce Off’ Each Other
