The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Star Breaks Down the Flag Smashers’ Compelling Motivation
For the longest time, the MCU had a problem with crafting memorable villains that the audience could get behind. Later, with Erik Killmonger, Thanos, and Baron Zemo, the franchise got better at making their villains stand out. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier features a new threat in the shape of an army of superpowered beings called "Flag Smashers", who are carrying out acts of terrorism all over the world. Erin Kellyman , who plays the Flag Smasher's Karli Morgenthau, explained why her character chooses to go against the government. According to the actress, it all has to do with Thanos' snap, which removed half the planet's population for five years, and the fallout of that incident, known as the "blip" . Big Eyes, Beetlejuice and Batman: Tim Burton on Finding His Voice
I n person, Tim Burton looks a bit like a sketch out of a Tim Burton movie. His hair is frizzled, his clothes are dark; he speaks in quiet but rushed tones, with a slightly manic gleam in his eyes. This description has undoubtedly been made before, but it’s worth repeating here, particularly since Burton’s new film, Big Eyes , looks so very un-Tim Burton-like. Gone are the macabre backdrops and characters, instead replaced with the bright, picturesque landscape of 1950s San Francisco. But underneath those pastels and shots of the Golden Gate Bridge, you’ll find the same things that made Burton’s earlier worlds so memorable: isolation, sadness, and that fish-out-of-water, outside-looking-in mentality. Oscar Isaac Shows Off His Killer Moves in Brutal Moon Knight Fight Training Video
Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac is once again showing off his physical prowess and particular set of superhero skills as he dispatches with bad guys in another stunt training video. Set to Rage Against The Machine's "Killing the Name," this latest video demonstrates the sheer amount of preparation and time that the actor is putting into the role of Moon Knight and gives us a good idea of the kind of brutal fight sequences that will no doubt be peppered throughout the upcoming Disney+ series. Captioned with "Someone has to do the FUN stuff," Isaac looks intense as the footage shows him slashing, stabbing, and, well, killing in the name of justice, with Moon Knight looking to continue Marvel's penchant for impressive hand-to-hand fight scenes . Ed Wood
Don’t expect a camp bitchfest from Ed Wood, even if it is a biopic about a cross-dressing Hollywood filmmaker – he relishes fluffy Angora sweaters and strappy high heels – with an unrivaled reputation for making cut-rate crap. Director Tim Burton, a former Disney animator with a famous sympathy for freaks ( Batman, Beetlejuice, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands ), doesn’t do the expected. It’s a cherishable trait that he shares with Scissorhands star Johnny Depp , who wriggles into a skirt to play the auteur of such classic clinkers as Glen or Glenda, Jail Bait, Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 From Outer Space. The last, featuring paper plates as flying saucers, is widely regarded as the worst movie of all time. But it’s Glen or Glenda, an ode to transvestism in which Wood plays the dual title role, that began the march into turkey legend for the man in Angora. Wood is an easy target that this sympathetic and endearing movie bravely resists. Burton’s … [Read more...] about Ed Wood
