The share price of Live Nation Entertainment hit an all-time high — even though the last time the concert company had hosted a full-scale live show was 12 months prior. That stock-price peak sent the market cap of the Los Angeles-headquartered Live Nation surging above $20 billion for the first time. And this happened even as the company announced that, thanks to the prolonged Covid-19 lockdown, its fourth-quarter revenues for 2020 were just a tenth of the size they were in the same quarter of 2019 (a puny $237.3 million compared to $2.89 billion, to be exact). American Idol ‘s Luke Bryan is set to miss out on the ABC competition series’ first live show of the season after contracting Covid-19. He will be replaced by original American Idol judge Paula Abdul for the episode. Country singer Bryan, who joined the ABC series at the top of its 16th season, revealed the news on social media. “I’m sad to say I won’t be a part of tonight’s first live @americanidol show,” he wrote. “I tested positive for Covid but I’m doing well and look forward to being back at it soon.” Monday’s episode, which will air from 8-10 p.m., will mark the ABC’s competition series’ return to the studio with a live audience . AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson will publish his memoir, The Lives of Brian , on October 26th via Dey Street Books , an imprint of the William Morrow Group at HarperCollins. Netflix said Monday that it has set Kong: Skull Island helmer Jordan Vogt-Roberts to direct a live-action Gundam , based on the iconic Japanese mecha franchise. The feature film hails from Legendary , which is reteaming with Vogt-Roberts from Skull Island and comes off the outsized box office success of its tentpole Godzilla vs. Kong . Y: The Last Man scribe Brian K. Vaughan is handling screenplay duties for the project, which he is also executive producing with Legendary’s Cale Boyter and Japanese studio Sunrise which originated the franchise. Vogt-Roberts is also producing. The plot for the movie is under wraps, but the original franchise is set in the Universal Century, an era in which humanity’s growing population has led people to emigrate to space colonies.
