How Producers Of ‘Attenborough’s Life In Colour’ Overcame A Covid-Ravaged Shoot To Deliver Early For The BBC & Netflix
BBC and Netflix series Attenborough’s Life In Colour sets out to explore the wonder of nature and its kaleidoscope of colors, but for producers at Humble Bee Films , filming the natural history show was far from black and white. Executive producer Stephen Dunleavy tells Deadline that soon after production got underway on the project, which unites Netflix and the BBC for the first time on a wildlife show, the pandemic ravaged filming plans. A trip to Costa Rica with the great naturalist, David Attenborough, was in the can, but it was during a visit to the Cairngorms in Scotland early last year that Covid-19 began to rear its ugly head in the UK. Up to 10 shoots were wiped out by the pandemic, with producers having to abandon travel plans to Italy among other locations, while 95-year-old Attenborough safely ensconced himself at home in leafy south-west London. Farhan Akhtar To Make Female Version Of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara With Alia Bhatt & Two Other A-List Actresses?
Ten years ago, when Zoya Akhtar's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin hit the theatres, fans went crazy over the film. Before Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara , it was Farhan Akhtar's Dil Chahta Hai that became a sensation among youth. Both films were based on three friends and a road trip, which plays an important role in the film's script. Now, we hear that Farhan is keen to direct a female version of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and wishes to cast Alia Bhatt in the lead role along with two other A-list actresses. "While Farhan acted in ZNMD, this time around, he will be directing this yet untitled film. It is written by him and Zoya, and though the concept of road trip remains the same, the narrative is diametrically different from what they did in the 2011 film. They have locked on the broad idea of this story through the lockdown," (sic) revealed a source close to Farhan. ‘Coach’ Reboot Not Going Forward At NBC, Will Be Shopped Elsewhere
A new Coach sitcom won’t be coming to NBC after all. The network, which in April ordered a follow-up to 1990s comedy with a 13-episode straight-to-series order, today scrapped the project, I have learned. The show’s cast and producers have started getting the news this evening. The decision comes after weeks of rumblings about creative issues on the project, which has filmed only a pilot episode. Original star Craig T. Nelson toplined the new show, written by the original series creator Barry Kemp. While Coach had a 13-episode order, NBC opted to film one episode and take time to re-evaluate the project before proceeding with the other 12 episodes. I hear besides Nelson, who is guaranteed 13 episodic fees, all other cast members are being paid for the produced episode only. I hear response to the reboot had been mixed, with some sources indicating that it felt dated. Creative differences between NBC and the producers led to the show being cancelled by the network.
