Another daytime fixture, Dr. Phil McGraw, is leaving after more than two decades as one of television’s most popular talk show hosts. His syndicated daytime show, Dr. Phil, will end its run with original episodes with the current 2022-2023 television season, the show’s 21st. McGraw’s decision comes as his most recent contract is coming to an end. Dr. Phil previously received a five-season renewal in 2018 as part of a mega deal extension with CBS Media Ventures, taking it through its 21st season. It’s been a transformational year in the increasingly challenging daytime talk show landscape, with stalwarts The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Wendy Williams Show, Maury, Dr. Oz as well as The Real all ending within the past 12 months. Nene Leakes is one of the most remembered stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta becoming the breakout star of the franchise. The Glee alum left the Bravo reality series back in 2020 after not reaching a deal to return for Season 13. The reality star recently made an appearance on The Breakfast Club where she said the franchise that launched her into stardom was “starless.” Leakes was reading a news bit about The Real Housewives of Potomac star Robyn Dixon after she revealed she knew her husband Juan had an affair. Ron DeSantis said that Congress should investigate AT&T and DirecTV for their decision to drop Newsmax and, last year, One America News Network . “I think there should be no ideological litmus test when you have these big companies that have the decision to make or break a news network, or any type of network,” DeSantis said. “They will give different rationales for why they don’t want to do it, but the reality is they have so much other content that is very lightly viewed, and they keep that on, and it seems it is the One America News and the Newsmax that are being targeted.
