News 12 dominated with 80 nominations for the 65th annual New York Emmy Awards nominations, which were revealed today. The NY chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said Telemundo’s WNJU squeezed past Univision’s WXTY for second place, 53 noms to 52. Spectrum News NY1 and MSG Networks tied for fourth place with 45 nominations apiece, just ahead of WNBC News’ 44. The winners will be honored at a ceremony in October, with a date and venue TBA. Sonny Barger , founder of the Oakland chapter of the Hells Angels and the public face for the motorcycle club in the aftermath of the Altamont tragedy , has died at the age of 83. Barger’s former attorney Fritz Clapp confirmed to NBC News that the longtime Hells Angels president died at his home Wednesday following a bout with liver cancer.
