This podcast was recorded before Sunday night’s Golden Globes: Kemp Powers is on a roll this awards season, as the co-director and co-writer behind Disney-Pixar’s two-time Golden Globe animated feature winner Soul and the writer behind Amazon’s Regina King directed movie One Night Miami which has Powers up for WGA and Critics Choice noms with the movie nominated for three Golden Globes and two SAGs including Best Ensemble. Also of amazing note, it was through Powers that Pixar delivered their first Black protagonist in a feature film. Will Smith Says He’s Never Encountered a Smart Racist Person

The actor dished on the 'Pod Save America' podcast, in which he discussed his experience with racism both before and during his time in Hollywood ... all with the backdrop of a new Netflix series he produced about the 14th Amendment, 'Amend: The Fight for America.' Will was asked about how his own personal run-ins with prejudice helped steer the project, and he didn't hold back ... saying he'd been called the n-word to his face at least 5 times before. GLAAD Media Awards Sets Date With Niecy Nash As Host; Virtual Ceremony Will Stream On Hulu

Actress, producer and director Niecy Nash ( Getting On, When They See Us ) is set to host the virtual ceremony for the 32nd annual GLAAD Media Awards which will stream on YouTube April 8 at 8pm ET. For the first time ever, the ceremony will also stream on Hulu on April 8 at 10pm ET. The 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues. A+E Kicks Off Total-Audience Upfront Ad Push, Moving Past ‘Live P.D.’ Era With 2,500 New Hours Of Programming

A+E Networks officially kicked off its retooled upfront ad sales efforts with a virtual pitch to ad buyers. The parent company of cable networks like A&E, History Channel and Lifetime, a privately held joint venture between Hearst Corp. and Disney, announced a raft of more than 2,500 hours of new programming. The company also plans to air 70 hours of premium documentaries and 221 movies. Along with the new series and movies, A+E has also implemented a new sales focus on total-audience metrics. The company signaled the plan last month to shift away from the age and gender Nielsen demographics relied on for decades by buyers and sellers. A+E Networks® Group President Paul Buccieri announced the programming slate with ad sales president Peter Olsen , delivering the industry’s first TV upfront pitch of 2021. Tim Allen On His Trump Silence: “Didn’t Join In The Lynching Crowd”

Last Man Standing star Tim Allen has described his silence about former President Donald Trump as not joining “the lynching crowd.” In a long interview on Marc Maron ’s WTF podcast , the conservative Allen explained why he stays away from discussing politics. “I literally don’t preach anything,” Allen told Maron. “What I’ve done is just not joined into, as I call it, the ‘we culture.’ I’m not telling anybody else how to live.” Allen continued, “I don’t like that, ‘we should do this’ or, ‘we should do that.’” Regarding Trump, Allen said, “Once I realized that the last president pissed people off, I kind of liked that. So it was fun to just not say anything.
