11 minutes ago With less than a month to go for release, Activision is in full blown hype mode for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The game had an open beta alongside EA and DICE's Battlefield V, but opposite of its World War II counterpart, there was almost universal praise for Black Ops 4 and how well it handled during the beta, especially the highly anticipated Battle Royale mode known as Blackout. For everyone who missed out on the beta (or everyone still looking for more intensity after having come out of the beta) Activision released the official launch trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which attempts to recapture all of the high-octane action within the span of just a minute. The trailer starts with a brief clip from the Zombies mode, and then transitions into an explosive hallway shootout, followed by a few snippets of the Blackout mode where we see multiple players running through the open plains while others give chase on an ATV. There's also a couple of … [Read more...] about New Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Trailer Will Get You Pumped Up For Launch

7 minutes ago While today we learned a great deal about what was in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, we also confirmed one thing that was not in the game, a single player campaign mode. While multiplayer based game modes have always been the part of Call of Duty titles that get talked about the most, the single-player campaign has always been there when you needed a break from Team Deathmatch or if you just weren't into playing online. I had a chance to speak with Treyarch Game Designer Matt Scronce and Senior Producer Yale Miller following today's big reveal event, who confirmed that, while the team was working on a single player focused story mode at one point, it wasn't really a "campaign" as most players would be familiar, and more importantly, it just wasn't working the way they wanted, resulting in it being scrapped. According to Scronce... The pair declined to go into exactly what it was that the Black Ops 4 single-player mode would have looked like had it continued to be … [Read more...] about Why Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Doesn’t Have A Campaign
11 minutes ago It's been teased for weeks, and rumored for some time before that, but Activision and Treyarch finally revealed the first footage of the highly anticipated Battle Royale mode that's set to appear for the very first time in a Call of Duty game when Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches this fall. The trailer was published over on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel, revealing two minutes worth of gameplay for the brand new game mode that will be available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One gamers. The name of the Battle Royale mode is called Blackout. The mode is introduced with a voiceover saying that we all love the Black Ops combat experience -- during the voiceover we get a flyby shot of freeze motion stills featuring soldiers wielding a variety of weapons while unloading their magazines in the general direction of their opponents. One guy has what looks like a modified M60 behind a makeshift barricade where a pillar is littered with bullet holes that have … [Read more...] about Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Trailer Reveals Battle Royale Mode And It’s Awesome
Hope you like guns. By Andrew Todd May. 17, 2018 Of all the military shooter franchises, Call of Duty is arguably the gun-porniest of them all, and boy oh boy, does Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII [sic] look like it’s gonna continue that trend. Activision formally revealed the new game today, and the trailer can be viewed below. It more or less opens with a Bill O’Reilly meme, just in case the target audience wasn't clear here. As COD returns to the present day, after its last two entries visited the future and the past, respectively, so too does the franchise jump on a ton of present-day shooter bandwagons. BLOPS4 finally ditches the campaigns that hung awkwardly upon the franchise like vestigial tails, going Full Multiplayer with a range of new and old modes. In addition to the traditional COD modes (including zombies), the big new feature is a battle royale mode, jumping on the latest and greatest multiplayer trend like an NRA spokesperson on a conspiracy theory.
