EXCLUSIVE: Disney’s next feature film based on one of its classic theme park rides looks to be getting ready to leave the station as sources tell Deadline Bert & Bertie are in negotiations to direct a pic based on the Big Thunder Mountain attraction at Disney theme parks. LuckyChap Entertainment and Scott Free are producing, with Kieran and Michele Mulroney writing the script. A mine cart ride set in a mining town where gold is discovered, the original Big Thunder Mountain opened in 1979 in Disneyland in Anaheim, with another version opening soon after at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. It is one of the more recognizable coasters in all of Disney’s parks, also appearing in the Tokyo and Paris locations. Anurag Kashyap is one of the few filmmakers in Hindi cinema who doesn't mince his words. In his recent interview with a news portal, the director opined on why mainstream Bollywood films are failing at the box office. Citing examples of the string of flops churned by Yash Raj Films in recent times, he pinned the blame of Aditya Chopra's 'dictatorial' methods and the 'trial room effect.' While speaking with Galatta Plus, Anurag said that in Bollywood, cinema is largely controlled by the second generation of people who have grown up in trial rooms. According to the filmmaker, these people haven't lived life so their referencing is based on cinema which is why what is not on screen can't be cinema to them. Tom Hollander , Calista Flockhart and Diane Lane have joined Feud : Capote’s Women , the second installment of FX ’s anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Plan B, we have learned. Reps for FX and 20th Television, which is behind the Feud franchise, declined comment. They join previously announced Naomi Watts and Chloë Sevigny. Hollander will star as Truman Capote, Flockhart as Lee Radziwill and Lane as Slim Keith. As previously announced, Watts stars as Babe Paley, wife of CBS head Bill Paley, and Sevigny portrays C.Z. Guest. An adaptation of Laurence Leamer’s bestselling book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era , the miniseries is set in the 1970s, and ends with Truman Capote’s death in 1984. It chronicles the tale of the famous wunderkind author as he stabs several of his female friends — whom he called his “swans” — in the back by publishing a roman à clef short story called “La Côte Basque 1965” in Esquire in 1975.
