Getty Roger E. Mosley -- famous from 'Magnum P.I.,' among other shows -- has died. The veteran actor passed away peacefully early Sunday morning at his home surrounded by family and loved ones ... this according to his daughter, Ch-a , who posted a tribute to her dad while announcing the sad news. Getty She writes, "We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy." Mosley will perhaps best be remembered as Theodore 'TC' Calvin in the OG 'Magnum' series of the '80s, opposite Tom Selleck . Leslie West , the towering guitarist who created the hard-rock milestone “ Mississippi Queen ” with his band Mountain , died Wednesday morning. West’s brother, Larry West Weinstein, confirmed the musician’s death to Rolling Stone. He was 75. The cause of death was cardiac arrest. On Monday, West was rushed to a hospital after suffering cardiac arrest at his home near Daytona, Florida, where he never regained consciousness. Released in 1970 on Mountain’s debut album, Climbing! , “Mississippi Queen” was two and a half minutes of boisterous bliss built around West’s burly yowl and guitar blasts and drummer Corky Laing’s completely unironic cowbell. One of those never-say-die songs of the classic-rock era, “Mississippi Queen” has been featured in countless soundtracks, TV shows ( The Americans , The Simpsons ), and in Guitar Hero III . Paralympic swimming champion Ellie Simmonds has been announced as a contestant for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing , saying she’s delighted to be the first contestant with dwarfism to take part in the show. The competition will be returning for its 20th year in September, and Simmonds told the BBC she was embracing the “once in a lifetime” opportunity: “I’m so excited, I just want to enjoy every second and try out the sequins and costumes. “I’ll be the first dwarf doing this show and I just want to show how positive it is – being different is okay.” In 2008, Simmonds became Britain’s youngest ever athlete to compete in the Summer Paralympics – then aged 13 – and was named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year the same year. She won two gold medals at those Games, another two at the London Paralympics and a fifth in Rio in 2016.
