Carol Burnett To Guest Star On ‘Better Call Saul’ Final Season
Comedy legend Carol Burnett is set to guest star on the sixth and final season of Better Call Saul . She’ll portray a character named Marion, but the storyline has not been revealed. The final episodes will conclude the complicated journey and transformation of its compromised hero, Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk), into criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. “I’m thrilled to be a part of my favorite show,” said Burnett. As prevously announced, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, will appear reprising their Breaking Bad roles of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, respectively, as the show comes to an end. Apple TV+ is close to a series order for dramedy Government Cheese , starring and executive produced by David Oyelowo . In addition to Oyelowo, the project hails from creators Paul Hunter and Aeysha Carr ( Midnight Run, Brooklyn Nine-Nine ), Macro Television Studios and Apple Studios. Written and executive produced by Hunter, who also directs, and Carr, Government Cheese follows Hampton Chambers, played by Oyelowo, a man recently released from prison who struggles to keep his criminal past at bay and win back his family, all while processing moments of divine intervention that seem to happen with increasing frequency. Brittney Griner Finally Gets Trial Date for Drug Charge in Russia
Brittney Griner ’s trial for cannabis possession in Russia is finally set to begin on July 1, according to The Associated Press . Griner appeared at a closed-door session at a court outside of Moscow on Monday, June 27, where it was announced that her detention would be extended for another six months as her trial finally moved forward. Griner could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the charge against her, “large-scale transportation of drugs.” A representative for Griner did not immediately return Rolling Stone ’s request for comment. Griner has been detained in Russia for over four months. She was arrested in February after security at a Moscow-area airport allegedly found vape cartridges containing cannabis oil in her carry-on bag as she tried to enter the country (Griner is one of several WNBA players who plays in Russia during the off-season).
