Yahoo Answers, one of the internet ’s most storied and often strange repositories of queries and advice, will shut down on May 4th. Posting on Yahoo Answers will be discontinued on April 20th, and after May 4th, Yahoo Answers will no longer be accessible, with the URL redirecting to Yahoo’s homepage. Up until June 30th, however, users will be able to download all of their Yahoo Answers data. Per an FAQ page, data download requests will return “all user-generated content including your Questions list, Questions, Answers list, Answers, and any images.” Data download requests may take up to 30 days to complete, and because the information will be formatted in JavaScript Object Notation, a third-party app or website will be needed to read the data (if you’re wondering how to parse JSON , just check Yahoo Answers — at least for now). After a new U.K. study voted him the best hope to take on a alien invasion , Arnold Schwarzenegger says he's "ready to serve". The action star and former politician was voted number one by 2,000 British adults, though Will Smith was apparently a close second choice, thanks to his work in Independence Day . As for Schwarzenegger, he was chosen because of his Hollywood roles and his stint as Governor of California. A spokesperson for Blaze TV, who commissioned the study, says, " Arnold Schwarzenegger is a strong choice for dealing with an alien invasion, bearing in mind he's not only a screen action hero but was also Governor of California." The spokesperson went on to say that it was a bit worrisome to see celebrities like Schwarzenegger, Will Smith, Sigourney Weaver, and Tom Cruise dominate over real-life public leader like Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. This year's Academy Awards ceremony is requiring in-person attendance. Nominees will not be able to attend via Zoom. The annual event, which is being held April 25th this year, will take place at Los Angeles' Union Station. Only nominees, their guests, and presenters will be allowed in the building, along with the behind-the-scenes crew. Additional segments will be filmed at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Academy has been trying to figure out the best way to push forward with this year's broadcast in the safest way possible for months now. The recent Golden Globes broadcast suffered several technical difficulties throughout, including Daniel Kaluuya's acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor delivered while his Zoom was on mute.
