Director Tim Burton, a former Disney animator with a famous sympathy for freaks ( Batman, Beetlejuice, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands ), doesn’t do the expected. It’s a cherishable trait that he shares with Scissorhands star Johnny Depp , who wriggles into a skirt to play the auteur of such classic clinkers as Glen or Glenda, Jail Bait, Bride of the Monster and Plan 9 From Outer Space. The last, featuring paper plates as flying saucers, is widely regarded as the worst movie of all time. EXCLUSIVE : Sharlto Copley ( District 9, Powers ) has joined the upcoming second season of Netflix ’s Russian Doll . He is the latest high-profile new cast addition to the award-winning comedy-drama, joining previously announced Annie Murphy and Carolyn Michelle Smith. No details about the Season 2 storyline or the new characters have been released. The first season followed a young woman named Nadia, played by Natasha Lyonne, who repeatedly dies during a New York party, reliving the same night in an ongoing time loop. Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Elizabeth Ashley and Charlie Barnett also starred. The first season of Russian Doll was released in February 2019. The series, renewed by Netflix in June 2019, was created by Lyonne who executive produces alongside Amy Poehler, and Leslye Headland. The Way Back and The Morning Show actress will play the role of Commander Knoxx, a new, key character being introduced to the Borderlands franchise. Tinopolis has completed a major financial restructuring and recapitalization after being badly hit by the coronavirus crisis — but the move has reportedly angered producers who will stand to lose money after selling their business to the Hell’s Kitchen production group. UK-headquartered Tinopolis announced the refinancing on Monday afternoon, which will involve a “significant” injection of cash from banks, institutional funders, and management. As part of the changes, a majority shareholding in Tinopolis will be sold to a new company, which will be owned by the investors. Tinopolis added that a non-trading subsidiary, in which loan notes (a type of I Owe You) owned by current and former management are held, will be closed. This will wipe out tens of millions of pounds owed to the founders of companies who sold their production companies to Tinopolis.
