American comedian and actor Bill Cosby has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a woman, Judy Huth, when she was a teenager in 1975. The verdict was announced by a Los Angeles jury comprising of eight women and four men on June 21, 2022. The CNN report revealed that the jury did not find Cosby liable for any punitive damages. The documents revealed that Huth alleged that she and her friend met Cosby when he was filming a movie at a park, post which he befriended the two teenagers. We gotta wait a little while longer for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune : Part Two as Warner Bros has moved the Legendary film from Oct. 20, 2023 to Nov. 17, 2023. The new release date for Dune: Part Two has been a traditional launch pad for Warner Bros. having opened many Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies in that pre-Thanksgiving space as well as Justice League. However, Warner Bros. just began a staring contest with Lionsgate on the pre-holiday date as the former has their prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on that same exact date. Warners has the upper hand with access to the Imax screens on that date. Universal also has DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls 3 and Paramount has their John Krasinski-directed Ryan Reynolds movie. STXfilms has set Katie Holmes to star in The Boy 2 , the sequel to director William Brent Bell ’s 2016 horror thriller. Brent Bell is returning to helm and Stacey Menear returns to script the follow-up along with original producer Lakeshore Entertainment. Shooting is set to start in January in Victoria, BC, after Brent Bell wraps up Separation , a horror thriller starring Rupert Friend that gets underway next month in New York. The Food and Drug Administration has effectively banned vaping company Juul ’s products from the U.S. marketplace, issuing denial orders for all of its e-cigarette products that are currently available. The company produces a vaping/e-cigarette device and four types of pods, which come in tobacco and menthol flavors and contain different levels of nicotine. The FDA requires all companies that produce “new tobacco products” to submit “ Premarket Tobacco Product Applications ” (PMTAs) in order to legally market the potential products in the U.S. and will either issue a “marketing granted order letter” or a “marketing denial order letter,” the latter of which was issued to Juul. Apple TV+ is close to a series order for dramedy Government Cheese , starring and executive produced by David Oyelowo . In addition to Oyelowo, the project hails from creators Paul Hunter and Aeysha Carr ( Midnight Run, Brooklyn Nine-Nine ), Macro Television Studios and Apple Studios.
