FBI Faces an ‘Unprecedented’ Number of Threats Following Mar-a-Lago Search
The FBI is experiencing an “unprecedented” number of threats against its agents and personnel after the agency searched former President Donald Trump ’s Mar-a-Lago resort and removed a trove of sensitive documents, CNN reported. FBI and Homeland Security emphasized extremists’ growing threats to law enforcement in a joint bulletin published Sunday by CBS News. “The FBI and DHS have observed an increase in threats to federal law enforcement and, to a lesser extent, other law enforcement and government officials following the FBI’s recent execution of a search warrant in Palm Beach, Florida,” the bulletin said. “These threats are occurring primarily online and across multiple platforms, including social media sites, web forums, video sharing platforms, and image boards.” The bulletin went on to add that “the FBI and DHS have observed an increase in violent threats posted on social media against federal officials and facilities, including a threat to place a so-called … [Read more...] about FBI Faces an ‘Unprecedented’ Number of Threats Following Mar-a-Lago Search
Los Angeles Covid Cases Up 78% In Past Four Days, Although Hospitalizations Show No Sign On Uptick
One week after Los Angeles threw off the last of its Covid restrictions, L.A. Officials are concerned about the spread of the more contagious BA.2 variant, a rise in cases and looming school and religious holidays. “While outbreaks in many sectors remain low,” the County Public Health Department said on Friday that “gatherings for Ramadan, Passover, Easter and Spring Break could eventually lead to more cases and outbreaks.” The good news is that, even with the rising case and test positivity numbers, the new variant and recently lifted restrictions, hospitalizations and deaths are not showing any signs of increase. The region’s 7-day test positivity has risen 50% since Tuesday, from 0.8% to 1.2% today. That kind of jump in a 7-day average is worth noting, even though the percentages are still very low. Cases have risen even more sharply. On Tuesday, L.A. County reported 708 new cases. Today, the number had risen 78% to 1,263 new cases, up from 1,088 … [Read more...] about Los Angeles Covid Cases Up 78% In Past Four Days, Although Hospitalizations Show No Sign On Uptick

MAGA Fanatics Have a New Enemy: ‘TINOs’ — Trump In Name Only
MACOMB COUNTY, MICHIGAN — In a banquet hall in suburban Detroit, Mark Forton railed against a gathering of “RINOs” 12 miles south of where he stood. The former chair of the Macomb County Republicans, ousted in a raucous coup back in April, asserted his rightful control of the party to the 300 loyalists, many clad in Make America Great Again apparel. His county convention, Forton said, was the “real” county party meeting to select delegates to send to the state convention at the end of the month. Forton’s assertions meant little to the Michigan Republican Party, which vowed to only recognize the dueling convention taking place elsewhere in the county, which has for decades been a national bellwether examined as an indicator of white middle America. Eric Castiglia, the chair who replaced Forton, took the stage at a different banquet hall and spoke of unity to the crowd that was mostly free of MAGA paraphernalia. But Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) arrived at the event fresh from Trump’s … [Read more...] about MAGA Fanatics Have a New Enemy: ‘TINOs’ — Trump In Name Only
