Brockhampton have announced a headlining North American tour in support of their new album, Ginger. The “Heaven Belongs to You” trek kicks off October 26th at the PNE Forum in Vancouver, Canada and wraps December 13th at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. U.K. rapper Slowthai will serve as support for 20 out of the 25 dates on the trek. Along with the headlining dates, Brockhampton’s itinerary includes November festival slots at Las Vegas’ Day N Vegas and Tyler, the Creator’s eighth-annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, the latter alongside Solange, YG and Tyler himself. After a brief break following the North American tour, Brockhampton will perform a series of six dates in Australia and New Zealand, starting January 4th in Brisbane. Sundance Special Events Lineup Includes Hillary Clinton & Lance Armstrong Docs; Fest Also Sets Indie Episodic, Shorts Lineups
Sundance has unveiled titles for the Indie Episodic, Shorts, and Special Events sections of the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, which runs from January 23-February 2 in Park City. Highlights include world premieres of documentaries on Hilary Clinton and Lance Armstrong in the Special Events lineup. Among the projects chosen out of the 10,397 submissions, 48% were directed or created by one or more women, 33% were directed or created by one or more filmmaker of color, and 19% by one or more people who identify as LGBTQIA. The 74 short films, which hail from 27 countries and were chosen from 10,397 submissions, will screen during the fest, while select festival shorts will be presented as a traveling program internationally and year-round. Palm Springs Film Fest: ‘JoJo Rabbit,’ Foreign-Language Oscar Candidates, Oliver Sacks Doc Join Lineup
The event, running Jan. 3-12, will screen all 51 submissions for best international feature at the Oscars. The 2020 Palm Springs International Film Festival will open with the Italian comedy An Almost Ordinary Summer and screen all 51 submissions for best international feature at the Oscars, among many other titles, the festival announced Tuesday. The event, which will run from Jan. 3 to Jan. 12, 2020, will close with the Peter Cattaneo dramedy Military Wives, feature a special sidebar for Italian film and play host to authors whose books were adapted into the films Hustlers, JoJo Rabbit and Motherless Brooklyn (it will also screen those films).
