Kangana Ranaut has responded to Priyanka Chopra's recent revelation regarding her move to Hollywood while at the peak of her Bollywood career. The former Miss World had disclosed in an interview that she was feeling "pushed into the corner" and was "tired of the politics" in the film industry. The Queen star has now reacted to Priyanka's statements and accused Karan Johar of banning her. The two actors had previously worked together in the 2008 movie Fashion and the 2013 hit Krrish 3 . The coming-of-age drama, based on Dack’s 2018 short film of the same name, tells the story of Lea (Lily McInerny), a disconnected teenage girl who enters a relationship with a man twice her age. She sees Tom (Jonathan Tucker) as the solution to all her problems, but his intentions are not what they seem. One-third of features films approved for support by France ’s National Cinema Centre (CNC) in 2022 had a women at the helm for the first time in history, according to figures released by the body this week. The figures were collated by the CNC’s Gender Equality Observatory created in 2014 to monitor the presence of women across the film industry. The data is drawn from information provided for French-initiated films (FIF) approved by the CNC as being eligible for its different support schemes. According to the report, 69 of the 208 FIF films approved last year were directed or co-directed by women, representing 33.2% of all the approved films. This not does not represent an historic high in terms of the number of female-directed films, because in 2021 there were 265 FIF films, amid a spike in production following the Covid-19 hiatus, among which 81 films were directed or co-directed by women.
