Johnny Knoxville has taken to social media to share his frustration over the cancellation of his critically acclaimed Hulu comedy series Reboot . “It’s with a heavy heart that I say despite getting great reviews and being nominated for a Critics Choice Award @hulu has failed to pick up Reboot even for a second season. Pretty unbelievable,” Knoxville wrote on Instagram Monday night, next to a cast photo. Thanking series creator Steve Levitan and cast “for allowing me to be part of this show,” which he says “has been one of the great highlights of my life,” Knoxville expressed some optimism. “It’s not over yet though, as we tend to shop it around and hopefully it will find a home with a studio who believes in and knows how to properly support a new show as it continues to grow,” Knoxville wrote. Hulu confirmed Monday it would not renew the comedy series for a second season, but as Deadline reported, Levitan hopes to shop it elsewhere. In the midst of their third month as newly appointed DC co-Bosses, James Gunn and Peter Safran finally revealed their plans for an inter-connective universe for the comic book giant spanning largely film and TV in a strategy unlike the Warner Bros. brand has ever had before. Entitled Chapter One, “Gods and Monsters”, a portion of what will unfold between 2025-2027 includes five movies including the Gunn-penned Superman Legacy , a new Batman and Robin title, The Brave and the Bold , a Swamp Thing feature, and films centering around Supergirl and the deeper universe DC rogue squad The Authority . Noah’s Day Zero Productions has hired Chloe Ifshin as VP of Scripted Television and Eugene Han as Head of Unscripted Development. It comes after the departures of Devon Quinn and Ashley Dizon and as its television slate is ramping up with projects such as The Turning Point for MSNBC, For All Humankind for Discovery+, and Kid of the Year for Nickelodeon. The company is also developing a scripted series adaptation of Kiese Laymon’s novel Long Division. “In hindsight, I got a little carried away and over-invested relative to the uncertainty I saw in the market,” Spotify CEO Daniel Ek said this morning as the company reported a jump in users but wider losses, a week after announcing a reorganization of top management and hundreds of layoffs. The music streaming giant announced 489 million monthly active users in the fourth quarter of 2022 (up 20%, its largest ever quarterly bump), with 205 premium subscribers (up 14%). Both numbers beat forecasts. However, losses widened on investments in podcasting and other costs. Superman & Lois likely will continue “for one or two more seasons,” according to DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran . Gunn and Safran spoke about the Greg Berlanti-produced CW series during a press event Monday. “It’s a show everybody likes, so it’s going to keep going for a little bit,” said Gunn when asked about the show. The third season of Superman & Lois premieres March 14 on the CW, picking up weeks after Superman’s blowout defeat of Ally Allston at the end of Season 2. Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Brown checked into a Malibu rehab facility for anger management 16 days ago ... after a street brawl in Washington D.C. in which he allegedly punched a guy in the face. At the time ... we were told Brown could be in rehab for up to 3 months -- sources told us "The rehab facility has been told to take him [Brown] apart and put him back together." Now ... a little more than two weeks after entering the program ... Brown has checked out. Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos , tells TMZ his client needed to get out of the facility to start the community service he's required to perform in the Rihanna case. As you may recall, the judge would not accept the hours Chris claimed he had done, and made him do it all over again.
