It appears that Pepe Le Pew has officially been canceled , as the controversial cartoon skunk won't be featured in any upcoming projects in the works at Warner Bros. TV. This week, it was reported that Pepe had been totally scrubbed from his planned scene in Space Jam: A New Legacy and wouldn't even be making a cameo appearance in the sequel. Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that there are no plans for Pepe to return in any other animated movies or TV shows either. In recent days, Pepe had come under fire in a New York Times opinion piece criticizing the skunk as a character who " normalized rape culture ." The op-ed was penned in the wake of another recent controversy with Dr. Seuss Enterprises pulling six books from publishing due to insensitive imagery. While the article put the spotlight back onto Pepe, word is the decision to "cancel" the skunk was made at Warner Bros. over a year ago. Ravi Ahuja , who left Disney at the end of last year, has been named Chairman of Global Television Studios at Sony Pictures Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment Corporate Development. Ahuja will lead the company’s domestic and international productions business, its gameshow franchises and the studio’s Indian business in a role that is similar to that of Mike Hopkins, who left the studio to join Amazon last year. Reporting to SPE Chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra, he will also oversee Sony Pictures Entertainment’s corporate development and M&A activities. Ahuja was previously President of business operations and CFO at Walt Disney Television and CFO of Fox Networks Group. He starts on March 15. Concordia Studio adds three new docuseries, covering a range of topics, to its nonfiction slate. We have a new look at Space Jam 2, officially titled Space Jam: A New Legacy . The movie will star LeBron James, who is looking to fill the shoes once occupied by Michael Jordan. Though this is going to be a markedly different movie, based on these images, as well as a description of the plot. James, Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes are going to be taking a trip through Warner Bros. history. The photos offer looks at LeBron James rounding up the Toon Squad, in addition to offering our first glimpses at the designs for the Looney Tunes themselves. We get a look at Bugs, Tweety, Taz, Daffy and Lola Bunny, who made her debut in the original Space Jam. We also get a glimpse of Don Cheadle, who is playing the villain in the sequel. It has also been confirmed that the Monstars will not be the opposing team this time around. Instead, the team will be called the Goon Squad.
