There's a new zombie comedy in production at Focus Features called The Dead Don't Die and it sure does have a hell of a cast! The movie stars Bill Murray, Selena Gomez, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, and Chloe Sevigny. The movie is being directed by Jim Jarmusch who previously helmed Coffee and Cigarettes, Broken Flowers, Paterson, and Only Lovers Left Alive. When previously talking about the project Murray said, "Brace yourself: It’s a zombie movie. Jim Jarmusch has written a zombie script that’s so hilarious and it has a cast of great actors." He goes on to say that he will not be playing a zombie. One of the things we do know about Murray's character is that he will play a "police officer alongside colleagues portrayed by Driver and Sevigny." New zombie movies
Bill Murray has officially taken on his second zombie movie, which sounds a little weird to say. After appearing in 2009's hit horror comedy Zombieland, he's now shooting The Dead Don't Die alongside co-star Selena Gomez and an ensemble of A-List stars. An official press release was sent out that offers details on this latest project from acclaimed indie director Jim Jarmusch. A zombie movie coming from Jim Jarmusch and Bill Murray sounds like a very interesting endeavor. And that additional cast line-up is one of the best ensembles announced in recent months. The movie has already begun shooting in Upstate New York, where some of the cast members have been spotted in the wild shooting their scenes. Bill Murray has been especially noticeable on the streets as a Police Officer. He was spotted shooting scenes alongside Adam Driver and Chloë Sevigny, who are also both portraying cops. Selena Gomez was also spotted shooting scenes alongside a very bloody Austin Butler. Though nothing … [Read more...] about Selena Gomez & Bill Murray Begin Shooting Jim Jarmusch’s Zombie Movie
Plus a bunch of other stars such as...Selena Gomez? By Jacob Knight Jul. 13, 2018 Jim Jarmusch is experiencing quite the late period run (not that his filmography ever really dipped in terms of idiosyncratic quality). Paterson was a near perfect motion picture about a blue collar everyman (Adam Driver) discovering poetry in the mundane. Only Lovers Left Alive saw Jarmusch transforming vampire mythos into existential hang out cinema, contemplating the destructive nature of human beings, as well as the meaning of everlasting love. Now, Jarmusch is re-teaming with Bill Murray - whom the No Wave auteur obtained a career-best performance from in Broken Flowers - for The Dead Don't Die, a zombie movie that (if we had to guess) is probably going to re-mold the tired-ass monster in the writer/director's image. Speaking with Philly.com back in March, Murray had this to say about the project: "I’ve got a good job coming up. Brace … [Read more...] about Praise Satan! Halloween is getting some reshoots. Director David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Stronger) is said to be heading back to Haddonfield for some additional filming on the upcoming reboot/sequel of the beloved horror franchise. According to a new report, these reshoots will primarily be used to address the movie's ending, but the full scale and depth of these reshoots haven't been revealed. Though, it's being described as a "tweak," which doesn't sound too severe. These reshoots come after a recent test screening was held for the new Halloween movie. Blumhouse then decided that it was best to revisit the ending, based on the reactions to the screening. Test screenings are held in order for studios to gauge audience reaction and to make changes that may be needed before the movie makes its way to theaters. Often times, we hear of rough test screenings and, by the time the movie actually arrives in theaters, it's actually quite good. This to say, the Halloween reshoots aren't necessarily … [Read more...] about New Halloween Movie Is Reshooting the Ending?
That's a wrap! Blumhouse Productions and director David Gordon Green have officially wrapped filming on their upcoming Halloween sequel, which is set to arrive in theaters this October, just in time for the holiday for which the franchise is named after. Green and the production team made quick work of it, as the new Halloween movie began production in mid-January, meaning that they shot the entire movie in just over five weeks. Then again, that does seem to fit into the Blumhouse model. Producer Ryan Turek, who serves as Blumhouse's VP of Feature Film Development, confirmed the news of Halloween's production wrap on Twitter. He simply said, "That's a wrap," followed by a knife emoji and a pumpkin emoji. Simple, yet effective. This should give the team plenty of time to finish the movie in post-production, even with the October 19 release date just six months away. But Jason Blum has promised that the movie will make that release date, as he was willing to stake his life on it. … [Read more...] about New Halloween Movie Wraps Production
