‘Justice League’s’ Ray Fisher Tweets Out New Complaint, WarnerMedia Immediately Responds

· February 27, 2021 ·

Actor Ray Fisher is back on the attack, accusing Warner Bros. via Twitter of trying to ingratiate itself by hiring black writer Ta-Nehisi Coates to write a new version of the Superman franchise with J.J. Abrams. The implication by Fisher, who played “Cyborg” in the Justice League film, is that his complaints were ignored, and the new Coates alliance is a way to paper over Fisher’s outrage. “Do ya’ll remember that time Walter Hamada and @wbpictures tried to destroy a Black man’s credibility, and publicly delegitimize a very serious investigation, with lies in the press?” Fisher tweeted. “But hey, Black Superman…” Fisher has been at-odds with Warner Bros. since last summer, alleging he was mistreated by Joss Whedon on the set of Justice League. The running battle has included shots at Walter Hamada, the president of DC Films. According to WarnerMedia , Hamada heard Fisher out, Warner Bros. investigated, and then had the investigation taken over by Warner … [Read more...] about ‘Justice League’s’ Ray Fisher Tweets Out New Complaint, WarnerMedia Immediately Responds

The Matrix 4 Set Photos Give Keanu Reeves’ Neo a Telling New Look

· October 28, 2020 ·

In a move that is sure to seem sacrilegious to some, Keanu Reeves has now cut off his long, John Wick style hair and in its place stands a very short buzzcut. Of course, the actor continues to look as breath-taking as ever, with the dramatic change in Reeves' do likely due to the upcoming sequel The Matrix 4 and potentially offering some clues as to the movie's direction. Keanu Reeves last sported a similar haircut all the way back in 1999 with the very first The Matrix , with his character, Neo AKA The One, awakening from the virtual world and into the real one like a newborn. Reeves has been spotted filming The Matrix 4 in the past, with the actor sporting long hair and beard, and thus the shaved head could suggest that Reeves will once again be awoken from his slumber in the computerized simulation as if for the first time. Jessica Henwick Calls The Matrix 4 an Industry Game-Changer Just Like the Original

· October 13, 2020 ·

For younger viewers who grew in a post- The Matrix era, it can be difficult to comprehend just how much of a game-changer the original 1999 movie was for the sci-fi film genre, and action movies in general. Now Lana Wachowski is crafting the fourth installment in the franchise with many returning leads and a few newcomers. One such newcomer is Jessica Henwick says that The Matrix 4 will prove to be as influential as the one that kickstarted the series: "There are definitely moments on set where Yahya [Abdul-Mateen II] and I look at each other and we just go, The Matrix 4 . Those pinch me moments. Yeah. Lana is doing some really interesting things on a technical level in the same way that you know, she created a style back then. I think she's going to change the industry again with this film. There's some camera rigs that I've never seen before that we're using. That's probably all I can say for that." Tom & Jerry Review: A Live-Action Hipster Remake That’s Strictly for Kids

· February 26, 2021 ·

Tom and Jerry return to theaters and HBO Max in a hipster, live-action film that's strictly for younger children. The classic Hanna-Barbera cat and mouse cartoon are still the best of frenemies. But get a modern update that rankled my old-school sensibilities. I knew things were going to be different when an animated pigeon starts rapping in the opening scene. The film isn't a musical, but there are a few auto-tuned songs that turned me off completely. That said, Tom & Jerry are still up to the usual bag of tricks. Tom chases Jerry, gets pummelled in numerous creative ways, and Jerry escapes laughing. Kids will be entertained by the hijinks. Adults and fans of the shorts will find the updated storyline lacking. Tom & Jerry opens in New York City with the two critters on different missions . Jerry is looking for a new place to live. He's not impressed with the accommodations offered by his real estate rat (Utkarsh Ambudkar). Tom plays keyboard in Central Park under … [Read more...] about Tom & Jerry Review: A Live-Action Hipster Remake That’s Strictly for Kids
