Netflix is adding it to its comedy lineup. The streaming giant has handed out a straight-to-series oder for half-hour comedy Dead to Me. The 10-episodes series is a dark comedy about a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret. Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, The Ellen DeGenres Show) penned the script and exec produces the comedy and will serve as showrunner. The series is produced by Gloria Sanchez Productions, the female-focused counterpart to Gary Sanchez Productions. The company's Will Ferrell, Adam MacKay and Jessica Elbaum will executive produce. Dead to Me is produced by CBS Television Studios, where Feldman and Gary/Gloria Sanchez Productions are under overall deals. Sarah Chalke to lead Netflix adult animated comedy Paradise, P.D. Netflix (via EW) has announced a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for Paradise, P.D., starring Sarah Chalke (Rick and Morty) in the lead in the new adult animated comedy. Paradise, P.D. was created by Waco O’Guin and Roger Black, the minds behind Comedy Central’s animated series Brickleberry. The series description is as follows: “They’re bad cops. Not bad like no-nonsense. Not bad like cool. Bad like shitty. Paradise P.D.: They’re the worst responders. On Wednesday, Netflix announced a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for Paradise, P.D., with Sarah Chalke (Rick and Morty) set to lead the voice cast for the adult animated show. Set to premiere this year, Paradise, P.D. hails from the creators of Comedy Central's Brickleberry, Waco O'Guin and Roger Black. The Parents Television Council wants Netflix to hit pause on the second season of its hit teen drama 13 Reasons Why. Ahead of its expected second season premiere this year, the conservative and publicly funded group on Wednesday urged the streaming giant to hold off on releasing the Brian Yorkey suicide drama until "experts in the scientific community have determined it to be safe for consumption by an audience that is comprised heavily of minor children." After becoming an instant phenomenon, 13 Reasons Why found itself thrust into a global conversation about how some of its tough subjects in the high school drama were handled, specifically the graphic depiction of teenager Hannah Baker's (Katherine Langford) suicide.
