‘True Story’: Theo Rossi Joins Kevin Hart & Wesley Snipes In Netflix Limited Series

EXCLUSIVE: Former Luke Cage star Theo Rossi is set as a series regular opposite Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes in the Netflix limited series True Story , written and executive produced by Narcos: Mexico executive producer Eric Newman and produced by Hart’s HartBeat Production. Philadelphia-born comedian Hart will play a version of himself in the fictional True Story, which centers on his character Kid and Kid’s older brother Carlton, played by Snipes. A tour stop in Kid’s hometown of Philadelphia becomes a matter of life and death for one of the world’s most famous comedians when the consequences of a lost evening with his wayward older brother threaten to destroy everything he’s built. ‘The Crown’ Drama Win Helps Netflix Series Knight Another Royal Night, Peter Morgan Calls Golden Globes “Most Fun” Awards

The Crown is having another royal evening – winning best drama series for the second time. The Netflix series won best drama series in 2017 and has triumphed again, albeit with a new cast. The drama beat Lovecraft Country, The Mandalorian, Ozark and Ratched to win the top TV drama prize. Creator Peter Morgan had a long list of people to thank including the cast and crew of the show, Left Bank, Sony Pictures TV and his family as well Netflix executives Cindy Holland and Nina Wolarsky – two execs that he pointed out were no longer at the streaming service. “I’m just sorry I’m sitting in my tragic little office not surrounded by the people who make the show such a pleasure,” he said. “Quite frankly, I miss not being with all my fellow nominees, in that wonderful room, in that crazy room at the Beverly Hilton. EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez and her production company I Can and I Will Productions, run by Molly Breeskin, in all areas. The Jane the Virgin actress was previously at CAA. Rodriguez played the title role in the CW series Jane the Virgin for 100 episodes, winning a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Series Musical or Comedy in 2015. Rodriguez recently starred in the Focus Features title Kajillionaire opposite Evan Rachel Wood and Richard Jenkins. The Miranda July directed feature made its world premiere at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Rodriguez’s upcoming projects include the Netflix film Awake and the miniseries Lost Ollie for the streamer. Michael K. Williams’ ‘Black Market’ Returns To Vice TV After Five Years As Part Of Bumper Docuseries Renewals

EXCLUSIVE : Michael K. Williams is returning to the Black Market for the first time in five years after Vice TV renewed his illicit docuseries. The first season of the show, which saw The Wire star journey into the dangerous world of gunrunners, poachers, drug addicts and illegal gambling dens, aired in 2016. He subsequently starred in series such as Netflix’s When They See Us and HBO’s Lovecraft Country and also appeared as Bob Dylan in Apple’s Beastie Boys Story. Williams will now continue the work of season one and look at the conditions from which black markets arise and the cultural reasons behind why they persist, from carjacking in Newark, NJ to the poaching of abalone off the coast of South Africa.
