AMC will air British drama Gangs of London in the U.S. after HBO’s Cinemax exited the project, which has been renewed for a second season. The series, which was created by The Raid’s Gareth Evans, was originally commissioned by Sky and Cinemax in 2017, as revealed by Deadline . In the subsequent two and a half years, the U.S. pay-TV broadcaster moved out of originals and AMC has now taken the U.S. rights and will become a co-producer of the second season. Endeavor Content brokered the deal with AMC. The ten-part show, which is produced by Pulse Films in association with Chernobyl producer Sister, was a bit hit for Sky in the UK – it was its biggest premiere streaming series this year and the biggest original drama launch on Sky Atlantic in the past five years. Deadline hears that Charles will feature as Curtis throughout the season in a subplot involving a Liverpool gang. Top Boy is currently shooting in the UK after its original 2020 production schedule was derailed by the coronavirus pandemic. The gritty urban drama is created and written by Ronan Bennett, with Cowboy Films producing. The second season is actually the fourth season, given the show first launched on Channel 4 in 2011. Clarkson (Succession, Jessica Jones). Anatomy Of A Scandal is a six-part series based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan and tells the story of a scandal among the British privileged elite and the women caught up in its wake. The original 2017 book centers on a high-flying Westminster politician whose marriage unravels when he is accused of rape. Sophie is sure her husband is innocent, while prosecutor Kate is equally convinced he is guilty. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has announced that the U.S. streaming giant will open a new office in Canada and hire a content chief dedicated to commissioning local originals.
