EXCLUSIVE: Paramount + has released the official trailer for season two of the adult animated series Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head . The first two episodes will premiere April 20 in the U.S. and Canada, and in Australia and the U.K. on Friday, April 21, with further international markets to follow. In the second season, Beavis and Butt-Head return as, natch , two guys who like things that are cool and hate things that suck. Created and voiced by writer, producer and director Mike Judge, the characters originated in Judge’s 1992 short film Frog Baseball , which was broadcast by MTV’s animation showcase “Liquid Television.” After MTV commissioned a full series around the characters, Beavis and Butt-Head ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 1997. Disney has eliminated a small business unit focused on exploring the metaverse , part of its initial efforts to reduce its workforce by about 7,000 employees. About 50 workers were part of the group dedicated to “next-generation storytelling and consumer experiences.” The elimination of the unit, first reported by The Wall Street Journal , was confirmed to Deadline by a person familiar with the staff reductions. Mike White, a former consumer products exec who had been leading the unit, will remain at the company in a yet-to-be-determined role, the source said. On Monday, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed in a staff memo that the first of three rounds of layoffs is starting this week as the company pushes toward a stated goal of $5.5 billion in cost savings. FX has ordered The Secrets of Hillsong , an investigative docuseries based on Vanity Fair ‘s exposé of the controversial megachurch, which counted celebritries such as Justin Bieber, Kevin Durant, and Selena Gomez among its worshippers. The four-episode docuseries, which Deadline exclusively reported had been in development since 2021, hails from Oscar and Emmy-winning Queer Eye producer Scout Productions and Vanity Fair Studios. It’s set to premiere Friday, May 19 at 10 PM with the first two episodes. The final two episodes will air May 26. All episodes will stream the next day on Hulu. The series will be available on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.
