EXCLUSIVE : As The Goldbergs is wrapping its 10-season run on ABC, series star Wendi McLendon-Covey has been tapped to lead another single-camera broadcast comedy, NBC pilot St. Denis Medical . Written by the Superstore and American Auto duo of Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin and to be directed by Superstore’ s Ruben Fleischer, St. Denis Medical is a mockumentary about an underfunded, understaffed Oregon hospital where the dedicated doctors and nurses try their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity. EXCLUSIVE: Another Good Girls alum has joined NBC’s Jenna Bans /Bill Krebs (fka Murder By The Book ) drama pilot. Michael Weaver has been tapped to direct the pilot from Good Girls creator Jenna Bans under her Universal Television-based production banner Minnesota Logging Company. Good Girls executive producer Bill Krebs will pen the script with Bans. Starring Retta , the story will follow big city Instafamous book reviewer takes a page from the murder mystery books she reviews and becomes an unlikely detective to uncover the shocking truths about an eccentric seaside town. The project, which had received a put pilot commitment in September, reteams Good Girls alums Retta, Bans, Krebs and Weaver, who served as director and executive producer on all four seasons of NBC’s crime comedy-drama. Zachary Levi isn’t giving up on the movie followup to his NBC series Chuck , and he says creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak are on board. Levi starred in the spy dramedy from 2007 to 2012 as Chuck Bartowski, an average guy who was dragged into the world of the the CIA and NSA to take on dangerous criminals and other threats. He’s been campaigning for an expansion of the Chuck universe since the show ended, but he recently said on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show that it might actually be coming to fruition. “I’ve been trying to make a Chuck movie since before we even finished the show.
