Kevin O’Neal , the younger brother of actor Ryan O’Neal who for a time built a steady, if less widely known, performing career of his own died in his sleep of natural causes in Thousand Oaks, California, on Saturday, Jan. 28. He was 77. His death was announced by his nephew Patrick O’Neal, Ryan O’Neal’s son. “Kevin had a wicked sense of humor, just like his older brother, and we have his stories to keep him in our hearts forever,” Patrick O’Neal wrote on Instagram, adding, “When Kevin walked into a room you heard him before you saw him. That energy and personality is an old O’Neal trademark. Gillis, who has been serving as Interim Artistic Director since William Carden retired in 2022 and is a long-time member of EST, will begin planning the 2023/2024 season with director/producer Fadul who will officially join the company in March. Over the past five decades, EST has developed thousands of new American plays and has grown into a company of over 600 actors, directors, playwrights, and designers. As part of James Gunn and Peter Safran ’s unveiling of their new DC Universe Chapter One, “Gods and Monsters”, the twosome announced theatrical release dates for the Gunn penned Superman Legacy , that being July 11, 2025 and Matt Reeves ’ DC else-world Batman II which is Oct. 3, 2025. Gunn and Safran declared that 2025 will be a big year for their new DC universe. Warners already had both dates on hold on the theatrical release calendar for untitled DC movies. No other studios have booked titles against them at this point in time. Chris Brown just asked the judge in his assault case in Washington D.C. to give him a pass and NOT make him appear Monday in court so he can stay in inpatient anger management rehab. Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos , just filed legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- asking the judge for the break. D.C. criminal courts require a defendant's presence even in misdemeanor cases. Brown is kind of between a rock and a hard place, because a California judge has ordered him to stay put in rehab for 90 days. Geragos says in the docs he reached out to the prosecutors to see if they were on board with Brown skipping the hearing, but he says he was told, no dice. So Geragos has made his case.
