Netflix is hitting the reset button with Narcos, relaunching the acclaimed thriller as a new original series that shifts the focus from Colombia to the Mexican drug war. The fourth season comes with a brand new title, Narcos: Mexico, and brand new leads in Michael Peña and Diego Luna. Now the streaming giant is offering a first look at Peña and Luna in character as a clashing DEA agent and Mexican cartel lord, respectively. Peña and Luna take over from former Narcos stars Pedro Pascal, Boyd Holbrook, and Wagner Moura, as the series travels from the streets of Colombia to the borders of Mexico. No longer is the series centered around infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, but on global drug wars in general — bringing to the forefront the one that U.S. audiences are probably most familiar with: the modern Mexican drug war. NARCOS fans finally have their first look at the revamped version of Netflix's drug trafficking drama. After three seasons exploring the cocaine war in both a pre- and post-Pablo Escobar Colombia, the show will divulge into the origins of Mexico's Guadalajara cartel and here's all you need to know... When is Narcos: Mexico on Netflix? As of yet, there is no official release date for Narcos: Mexico but it is expected to be available in Autumn 2018. As was the case with previous seasons, Narcos: Mexico will also include ten episodes and will all be dropped as one. What Narcos will look like when it moves from Colombia to Mexico is beginning to take shape. After three seasons of exploring the cocaine war in Colombia in both the pre- and post-Pablo Escobar world, Narcos underwent a reset for its fourth season to explore the origins of its next threat in the drug war: Mexico's Guadalajara cartel. The cartel series moved production to Mexico City, suffering the death of a location scout in the process, and brought in new stars Michael Pena and Diego Luna as leads. The announcement marked the end of main character Javier Pena's story — and a phasing out for leading man Pedro Pascal. Now Netflix has confirmed that the series is officially reseting as Narcos: Mexico and will launch as a new original series later this year. A profits dispute brought by Katie O'Connell Marsh against Gaumont Television has gotten off to an unusual start. Last February, the veteran TV executive alleged in a complaint filed in L.A. Superior Court that she is being shorted millions in profits from series including Narcos and Hannibal. Marsh was formerly the chief at the Paris, France-based Gaumont and was let go after a company reorganization, but says her deal entitled her to contingent compensation and she hasn't gotten a penny for various shows including Hemlock Grove and F Is for Family. When Marsh originally filed the complaint, she applied for an order that redacted references to certain portions of her agreement. Nevertheless, Gaumont believes she has violated confidentiality. After Gaumont filed an answer to the lawsuit and raised a breach of confidentiality as one of its affirmative defenses, the lawyers involved had a short discussion.
