Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, Hugh Jackman, Gerard Butler, Ansel Elgort, and director Steve McQueen all work out at the SoHo location and Levine is an investor. West Hollywood needs another workout facility in the same way that Meryl Streep needs another Oscar nomination. But just as you should never discount Meryl, you can’t rule out the Dogpound. The stand-alone trainer’s gym in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood opens its second location this week in Los Angeles, on North Robertson Boulevard above Melrose, right across from the reality television magnet Sur restaurant and lounge. The East Coast Dogpound, at the intersection of Renwick and Canal, opened in the spring of 2016 and is known for a glittery clientele, which is part of the appeal (and the sweat incentive). On any given day, one might be doing burpees, chest presses and planks right next to Taylor Swift, Gerard Butler, Ryan Seacrest, fashion designer Marc Jacobs, Laura Harrier, Ansel Elgort, Hugh Jackman, … [Read more...] about New York’s Dogpound Gym Opens Second Outpost in L.A.

From a distance, the Angels appear to flit back and forth, the realization of Dante’s Rose of Paradise. They have moved from Los Angeles to California to Anaheim to Los Angeles of Anaheim, often without relocating. Last month their lease on Angel Stadium was extended, but only to Dec. 31, 2020. That opened the possibility for another move. If you’re the mayor of Long Beach, why not pay a call to 2000 E. Gene Autry Way? Late Monday, Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia confirmed to the Southern California News Group that city officials have approached the … [Read more...] about ‘Los Angeles Angels of Long Beach?’ How geography, identity inform a franchise move
