The New York Film Festival on Tuesday revealed its Spotlight section lineup, which includes the world premiere of She Said , Universal’s drama based on the work of New York Times reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey who investigated and wrote the bombshell 2017 Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse story. Maria Schrader directed the pic starring Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan that features a cast including Patricia Clarkson, Andre Braugher, Samantha Morton and Jennifer Ehle. Adapted from the reporters’ book by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, the film hits theaters November 18. Other Spotlight world premieres set for NYFF, which runs September 30-October 16, includes Till , Chinonye Chukwu’s story of Mamie Till-Mobley, the Chicago woman whose son, Emmett, was lynched while visiting cousins in Mississippi in 1955. Getty Anne Heche 's death came just before the release of her final movie, and the director tells us he's dedicating the film to her. The film is "Wildfire: The Legend of The Cherokee Ghost Horse" ... director Eric Parkinson tells TMZ he's adding an "In Memoriam" as the movie's final shot, right before the final credits. Hannover House Eric tells us Anne was superb in the movie, which started filming back in 2019 before being delayed by the pandemic, and the entire cast and crew are devastated by her death. Anne plays a rodeo trainer in the film, and Eric says during negotiations to hire her for the role, her agent cautioned she was not an experienced rider, so producers decided they needed a stunt double for some barrel racing scenes. The plan for those riding scenes, we're told, was for Anne to slowly ride up on the horse and then cut to the stunt double ... but once they were on location in Oklahoma, Anne surprised everyone. Olivia Wilde ’s Don’t Worry Darling hits theaters on Sept. 23 with Harry Styles and Florence Pugh in its leading roles as Jack and Alice. In the lead-up to the film, the tiniest interactions between its stars have been dissected and examined with a magnifying glass. One specific clip seemed to set the internet ablaze when it featured Styles and Pugh in an especially intimate moment. The “Watermelon Sugar” inspired scene quickly became the fantasy centerpiece of thousands of fan edits.
