Adeleke previously appeared in Bay’s 6 Underground and Transformers: The Last Knight, also working as a consultant on both pics. He is a former Navy SEAL who is now working as a Hollywood writer, including on the upcoming Slave Stealers project. Jake Gyllenhaal, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Eiza Gonzalez, Garret Dillahunt, A Martinez, Keir O’Donnell, Moses Ingram, rapper Wale Folarin, Cedric Sanders, Jackson White, Colin Woodell and Olivia Stambouliah are all already cast in the movie. SXSW Film Festival Unveils Full Lineup; Charli XCX Quarantine Feature To Close Fest; Tom Petty Docu Set As Centerpiece
South by Southwest Conference and Festivals have revealed the full program for the 28th edition of the SXSW Film Festival — and it will all take place online March 16-20. As previously reported , the documentary Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil is set to open the fest while the Charli XCX quarantine docu Alone Together will serve as the film fest closer. ABC Renews 13 Series, Including Freshmen ‘Stumptown’ & ‘Mixed-ish’, For 2020-21 Season
ABC has renewed 13 more series for 2020-21, eight of them scripted, including freshmen Stumptown and mixed-ish. The broadcast network has picked up American Housewife, black-ish, The Conners, The Goldbergs, A Million Little Things, mixed-ish, The Rookie, Stumptown; reality stalwarts The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars and Shark Tank; as well as the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire revival and newsmagazine 20/20. They join previously renewed flagship Grey’s Anatomy, which is in the middle of a two-season pickup, spinoff Station 19, The Good Doctor, American Idol, America’s Funniest Home Videos, as well as newly picked up scripted series Big Sky, from David E. They’ve been playing songs from throughout their 50-year career on the road, but the audiences, by Pete Townshend‘s estimation, have been skewing younger and younger. “When we started this tour, we were pleased that maybe 20 percent of our audience was under 30,” he tells Rolling Stone. “And the numbers have just increased. It just means we’re playing music to a new audience. Sometimes they’re familiar with it but mostly, if they’re familiar with it, they’re certainly not jaded by it. They’re not bored with it. They’re not looking for something new from it. Netflix Takes Rights To ‘Redwall’ Books & Plots Animated Films, TV Series Based On Brian Jacques’ Stories
Netflix has snapped up the rights to Brian Jacques’ entire series of Redwall books and is plotting an animated feature film and TV series based on the animal adventure franchise. Netflix inked a deal with Penguin Random House Children for the rights to the books, which have sold 30 million copies worldwide and chronicle the adventures of the heroic animals that inhabit the forest haven of Redwall Abbey. It is the first time that the film rights to the entire series of books have been held by one company and Netflix has already set to work adapting the stories, signing up Patrick McHale to write a feature. McHale created Cartoon Network’s Over the Garden Wall and is working on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio .
