MindGeek , the parent of Pornhub , the world’s biggest porn site, and other adult entertainment platforms was acquired by a Canadian private equity firm called Ethical Capital Partners, or ECP, for an undisclosed amount. ECP launched in 2022 in Montreal. Its website says it’s good at dealing with problem companies, seeking out tech-focused investment and advisory opportunities “in industries that require principled ethical leadership…have legal and regulatory complexity and that put a value on transparency and accountability.” Pornhub, founded in 2007, changed the world of adult entertainment. It has over 76 million monthly active registered members and over 130 million adults visit the site daily for “the best selection of award-winning performers, the most extensive collection of high-quality videos, and a safe, user-friendly experience for viewers,” the deal announcement says. Lady Gaga 's 30th bash didn't end well for her producer, DJ White Shadow , who had $15k worth of gear jacked outside the party ... according to cops. White Shadow -- who produced Gaga's "Born This Way" and "Artpop" albums -- had been on deck duty at the No Name Club event with a ton of A-listers in attendance . According to the police report ... around 4 AM White Shadow and a pal were leaving the venue with all his gear when they got into it with a photog (not one of ours) who was hurling derogatory comments at them. Cops say White Shadow and his pal left his gear and approached the pap, but when the tiff ended they realized someone had swiped the equipment ... including computers, hard drives, a watch and headphones. TMZ.com L.A.'s new "mansion tax" is about to go into effect, forcing sellers to cough up a ton of cash if their property sells for at least $5 million ... and Josh Altman is one of many real estate agents who think it's absurd. Josh joined us Thursday on "TMZ Live," and immediately dumped on measure ULA ... calling it "the dumbest tax ever put through in the history of Los Angeles." Passed on the ballot last November, it slaps a 4 percent tax on homes selling for $5 mil and up, and 5.5 percent on those selling above $10M. Josh points out the ridiculous ways agents would have to work around the taxes if they wanted to, including listing it for cheaper than its actual value ... just to dodge the additional tax.
