Prime Video has ordered The Ride , an eight-episode docuseries that delves into the world of professional bull riding. Produced by Kinetic Content, The Ride takes viewers behind-the-scenes and into the daily lives of some of the sport’s biggest stars. The docuseries will premiere later this year on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Well, the mostly predictable Oscar nominations arrived Tuesday morning with no disasters or truly egregious missteps. Even the snubs were fairly routine: no female directors, though women won the directing award in the past two years ; James Cameron and Joseph Kosinski, both with Best Picture nominees , were left out too. Larry Wilmore is moving to Universal Television with a rich four-year overall deal. Under the pact, The Bernie Mac Show creator will develop new projects through his Wilmore Films production company. Larry Wilmore ’s The Nightly Show has been picked up by Comedy Central through the end of 2016. That’s good news, given that he now competes against Comedy Central’s former star of Wilmore’s berth, Stephen Colbert. Even before Colbert debuted, Wilmore’s show had taken a ratings tumble after Jon Stewart vacated The Daily Show in early August.  Comedy Central moved Wilmore’s lead-out, @midnight , to 11 PM so as to become his lead-in, starting September 8 – same night Colbert debuted as David Letterman’s replacement on CBS’s The Late Show. Wilmore revealed the pickup to his studio audience Monday during the audience warm-up Q&A period. Comedy Central today confirmed the pickup reported by CNN.  The new order extends the show’s life through the end of  ’16.
