Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave an interview to Fox & Friends on Wednesday, during which, he faced a number of tough questions about America’s relationship with Saudi Arabia following Jamal Khashoggi‘s murder. The Washington Post writer’s death continues to draw international outrage, even though President Trump and his administration insist there isn’t enough proof to determine that it happened under the orders of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman. When asked about this, Pompeo continued this approach by calling Khashoggi’s death a “tragic incident,” but that U.S.-Saudi alliance must be preserved. Brian Kilmeade eventually noted that many members of Congress are convinced of Salman’s guilt, especially after CIA Director Gina Haspel briefed lawmakers about the evidence collected by her team. To this point, Kilmeade asked Pompeo “we know the prince knows, right?” Pompeo declined to answer the question directly, so … [Read more...] about WATCH: Sec. of State Mike Pompeo Evades Fox & Friends Questions about Jamal Khashoggi’s Murder
President Donald Trump‘s shocking statement about Saudi Arabia and the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi became the main focus at Secretary of State Mike Pompeo‘s press briefing this afternoon. In addition to beginning with “America First!” and “The world is a very dangerous place!”, Trump made it clear he is unequivocally standing by Saudi Arabia and actually said, “Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!” During the briefing today, Pompeo said “it’s a mean nasty world out there” and noted the vital American national interests in the region. Heather Nauert has reportedly been offered the job of U.N. ambassador, but for now, she’s still at the State Department, where she serves as press secretary. According to a new Daily Beast report, the former Fox & Friends newsreader has “one foot out the door” — as well as the support of Mike Pompeo, the secretary of state, who sees her as a close ally that would fit well at the U.N. But there’s one story that could put a wedge between the two, and it involves North Korea, toast and slices of processed cheese. “The Pompeo cheese incident,” as it is reportedly called, came after Bloomberg’s State Department correspondent Nick Wadhams included an curious anecdote in his report about Pompeo’s frustrating trip to North Korea. “By the morning of his second day, Pompeo had enough,” Wadhams wrote. “Instead of the elaborate breakfast prepared for him, he ate toast and slices of processed cheese.” According to the … [Read more...] about Heather Nauert Reportedly Enraged Mike Pompeo By Telling a Reporter He Ate Processed Slices of Cheese
