Specifically, two of the show's characters, Evan Peters' Stan Bowes and James Van Der Beek's Matt Bromley, are big-time businessmen hard at work within Trump Tower. That wasn't how it always was set up, however, as co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed Van Der Beek wasn't just going to be a boss in Trump Tower, but the building's biggest boss, as he was originally meant to play a young Donald Trump. Ryan Murphy and co-creator Brad Falchuk decided to pull Donald Trump out of Pose as a main character to prevent taking audiences out of the events of the show. John Oliver once again went after Trump and his administration on Sunday's Last Week Tonight. Among this week's topics: Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, the Iran nuclear deal and the FBI raid on Trump's longtime attorney Michael Cohen. He also played part of a podcast parody he joked he was launching with James Van Der Beek called Talkin' Tehran. The audio bit featured the real voice of Van Der Beek as the two got into a heated exchange. John Ludwick, a former friend of Joran van der Sloot’s, claimed that van der Sloot admitted to killing Natalee Holloway and asked him to burn her remains, according to the woman who killed Ludwick in self-defense. The 32-year-old Ludwick was fatally stabbed last month trying to kidnap his ex-girlfriend, who said he spilled the beans on van der Sloot’s admission. “He told me that Joran did do it and hid the body,” former gal pal Emily Heistand, 23, said in a “Dr. Phil” interview that aired Monday. Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigation just placed its first person behind bars. So, who is he? Alex van der Zwaan was served with a 30-day jail sentence on Tuesday along with a $20,000 fine after admitting to lying to special agents in Mueller’s Russia probe during November 2017. The false statements concerned e-mail communications and phone calls between him and Richard Gates, an ex-campaign aide to President Donald Trump. Van der Zwaan is a 33-year-old Dutch attorney who is also the son-in-law of Russian oligarch German Khan, who is also linked to President Vladimir Putin. Khan is one of the individuals named in the infamous Trump-Russia dossier that suggests Trump could be open to blackmail from the Kremlin. Back in February, Dutch attorney Alex van der Zwaan pleaded guilty to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s indictment that charged him with lying to federal agents about his interactions with former Trump campaign aide Rick Gates. Today, van der Zwaan was sentenced to 30 days in jail. He was also fined $20,000. The judge that sentence the lawyer stated that van der Zwaan attempted to ingratiate himself with both Gates and former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort and that he attempted to conceal key information while hiding his lies from his law firm. Some of the key information that van der Zwaan is accused of concealing regards Gates’ contact with a Russian intelligence agent during the 2016 presidential campaign. The charge against van der Zwaan does not involve election meddling.
