Former President Donald Trump said that he expected to be arrested on Tuesday as part of the Manhattan District Attorney’s investigation, while he also called on his supporters to protest the move. Trump wrote on Truth Social, his social media platform, that “illegal leaks” from the D.A. showed that he would be arrested. “Protest, take our nation back!” he wrote in all caps. He did not specify what he has been told about an indictment and potential charges. A campaign spokesperson said in a statement that there had been “no notification” given to Trump other than “illegal leaks” by prosecutors to news outlets. Donald Trump Drops $5 Million Orangutan Lawsuit Against Bill Maher
Donald Trump is done beating his chest ... at least for now ... TMZ has learned The Donald has withdrawn the $5 million lawsuit he filed against Bill Maher for calling him monkey spawn. Trump sued Maher in February, claiming Maher skipped out on a promise to donate $5 mil to charity if Trump could prove he wasn't part orangutan. Maher made the offer during an appearance on "Leno" ... after Trump made his $5 million challenge to President Obama regarding the POTUS' birth certificate. In his suit, Trump said he formally responded to Maher's challenge with a copy of his birth certificate, proving he's the "son of Fred Trump" ... who is, in fact, not a monkey ... and Bill should have to pony up. WGA East Sets Walkout At Hearst Magazines For Thursday; Hundreds Sign Petition
Hundreds of WGA East members who work for Hearst Magazines Media are planning to stage a walkout Thursday to demand a fair contract. The half-day action is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET and will last the remainder of the day. “ WGA East members at Hearst have been bargaining a first contract for over two years and their last scheduled day of negotiations is March 28,” the guild said. “With only one bargaining session left, the Hearst Union is taking collective action with a unit-wide walkout in their fight for a fair first contract.” Rallies in support of the walkout will be held at four locations: outside the Hearst Tower in Manhattan; at the Hearst offices in Easton, PA; at the Hearst offices in Ann Arbor, MI; and the Hearst offices in Birmingham, AL. Fox is doubling down on a pair of freshman crime dramas. The network has renewed both Accused and Alert : Missing Persons Unit for second seasons. Both shows come from Sony Pictures Television. The renewal of Howard Gordon’s crime anthology series Accused was expected, given that it opened strong with a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.4M viewers on live+same day data and grew to more than 11.3M multi-platform viewers and a 2.3 rating in the demo in the three days after its premiere, making it broadcast’s highest-rated debut in nearly two years, since the premiere of NBC’s Law & Order: Organized Crime in April 2021.
