Clare legend Anthony Daly joins Antrim’s new hurling management team
CLARE hurling legend Anthony Daly has agreed to join Antrim’s new senior hurling management team. The double All-Ireland winner met with Antrim officials over recent weeks and will be part of Neal Peden’s backroom team. It is understood new Tipperary hurling boss Liam Sheedy, who assisted Antrim over the last two seasons, helped persuade Daly into helping the Ulstermen. Antrim officials scoured the country for a new manager after Terence McNaughton and Dominic McKinley stepped down at the end of last season. Talks were held with Daly and Anthony Cunningham, with the latter agreeing to become Roscommon’s next senior football manager. Daly, who has been involved with Kilmacud Crokes this season and saw them lose a county decider to Ballyboden, is sure to fire the imagination of Antrim Gaels.
