British broadcaster Channel 4 has said that it will no longer work with Ant Middleton , the star of its successful SAS: Who Dares Wins show, after his comments on the Black Lives Matter movement and the coronavirus pandemic. Middleton has become a major television star in the UK after first appearing in military survival show SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2015. Since then, he has gone on to front solo projects for Channel 4, including Escape and Extreme Everest . He recently fronted Ant Middleton & Rebel Wilson: Straight Talking for Sky. But Middleton raised eyebrows last year over comments he made about Black Lives Matter and Covid-19. In a now-deleted tweet posted last June, Middleton wrote: “BLM and EDL are not welcome on our streets, absolute scum. What a great example you are to your future generation. Bravo.” Related Story Russell T Davies On How The Queer Casting Rule On HBO Max's 'It's A Sin' Proved A Triumph Middleton later posted an apology … [Read more...] about Channel 4 Drops ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Star Ant Middleton Following His Black Lives Matter & Coronavirus Comments

Berlin Review: Post-Apocalyptic Thriller ‘Tides’ From Exec Producer Roland Emmerich
Tides just aches to be a waterborne Blade Runner crossed with Mad Max , but instead emerges as even more waterlogged than Waterworld . A soupy, post-apocalyptic Europudding that needed more action, greater imagination and a star of some magnitude in the leading role, this tale of an investigation into the possibility of restoring life to a mostly decimated Earth is all dark, grim and clammy. Premiered in the Berlinale Specials section of the Berlin Film Festival , and exec produced by Roland Emmerich , this is a lumbering piece of very heavy metal that might achieve lift-off as acceptable generic fare here and there but not in more demanding markets. Nicole Kidman Had Final Cut on Eyes Wide Shut Nude Scenes Thanks to Stanley Kubrick
There are few Hollywood directors who are as well-regarded as Stanley Kubrick in terms of their cinematic output. And there are few directors with a more fearsome reputation for their working methods than Kubrick. The notoriously perfectionist director famously reduced his leading lady Shelley Duvall close to a mental breakdown on the sets of The Shining . Nicole Kidman also worked with Kubrick on the 1999 psychological drama Eyes Wide Shut . In an interview with The New York Times, Kidman revealed shooting a nude scene for Kubrick's film was not as stressful as the director's reputation had led her to expect: "When I went to work with Stanley Kubrick , he was like, 'I'm going to want full frontal nudity', and I was like, 'Ahh, I don't know. So we came up with a great agreement, which was contractual. He would show me the scenes with the nudity before they made it into the film. Then I could feel completely safe. I didn't say no to any of it. I'd wanted to make sure … [Read more...] about Nicole Kidman Had Final Cut on Eyes Wide Shut Nude Scenes Thanks to Stanley Kubrick
