The Grudge is back — again, with a new version of the 2002 horror movie, Ju-On (The Grudge), set to arrive early next year. The 2002 film, directed by Takashi Shimizu, took place in Japan, as does the 2004 remake, which was also directed by Shimizu and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar. The new version, however, will be set in rural America, but will still center around a haunted house that infects anyone who enters it with the rage of a spirit who met a horrifying end in the dwelling. Along with the 2002 and 2004 films, a third Grudge installment was released in 2009, while a series of short films, Tales From the Grudge, arrived in 2006. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, filmmaker Nicolas Pesce, who directed the latest installment, talked about the perennial viability of the franchise, saying, “The beauty of The Grudge franchise, both the American and Japanese iterations, is it’s an anthology series. Every movie is a different story of different … [Read more...] about ‘The Grudge’ Will Never Die: Watch New Trailer for Latest Remake

Janice Dickinson can proceed with her defamation suit against Bill Cosby. In the last round of the ongoing legal battle, the California Supreme Court has rejected Cosby’s request to overturn an appeals court decision that favored Dickinson. “That means our case against him, on behalf of our brave client Janice Dickinson, moves forward,” Dickinson’s attorney Lisa Bloom tweeted today. She said the state’s Supreme Court denied review of the lower court’s Dickinson-favored rulings on three out of three issues. (See her tweet below.) The California Supreme Court posted the March 14 disposition – “Petitions for review denied” – on its website this morning. Former model Dickinson sought — and last November was granted — court permission to make use of certain documents (including a Team Cosby press release and letter to press outlets) that she claims support her contention that Cosby defamed her as a liar. … [Read more...] about Bill Cosby Loses Latest Appeal In Janice Dickinson Defamation Case
“The President had no knowledge of the story and it is completely untrue that there was White House involvement in the story,” asserted White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders today of a new lawsuit that vehemently claims Donald Trump was personally involved in crafting a now retracted Fox News story about the death of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich last year. “Beyond that, this is on-going litigation and I refer you to the actual parties involved, which aren’t the White House,” the simultaneously assertive and defensive Sanders added Tuesday in what was a heated exchange with the media. Former Press Secretary Sean Spicer has already admitted today he did have a meeting with the Fox News reporter in question and a GOP donor about the story of 27-year old Rich – as the lawsuit by Rod Wheeler claims. In all honesty, there wasn't too much of a fan uproar earlier this week when it was announced that director Seth Grahame-Smith had bailed on The Flash movie. But it sounds like there are more problems brewing at DC Comics and Warner Bros. In the wake of this departure comes news that fan-favorite director James Wan might be the next to flee the DCEU compound. Signed to The Flash movie since last October, writer and director Seth Grahame-Smith has cited 'creative differences' as his reason for leaving. Those differences have yet come to light. Similar circumstances surrounded Wonder Woman last year, when Michelle MacLaren exited before shooting was set to start. She also claimed 'creative differences' had driven a wedge between her and the project. She was later replaced by Patty Jenkins, and shooting is about to wrap in Italy. So, as you can see, not all is lost when DC and WB lose a filmmaker. Though, the latest rumor might hit a little harder than the previous two, as director James … [Read more...] about Aquaman Movie in Danger of Losing Director James Wan?
As expected, Quentin Tarantino is suing the website behind the further leak of his latest screenplay, a Western tentatively titled The Hateful Eight. The Django Unchained director has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Gawker Media for publishing his written material online. This comes just one week after an unknown source leaked the screenplay, which caused Quentin Tarantino to cancel plans to shoot the project in 2015. The lawsuit filed today in U.S. District Court states: 'Jury trail demanded.' Famed entertainment attorney Martin Singer signed the document, which contains the following text: "Gawker Media has made a business of predatory journalism, violating people's rights to make a buck. This time they went too far. Rather than merely publishing a news story reporting that Plaintiff's screenplay may have been circulating in Hollywood without his permission, Gawker Media crossed the journalistic line by promoting itself to the public as the first source to read the … [Read more...] about Quentin Tarantino Sues Gawker Over The Hateful Eight Script Leak
