Getty Brian Cox has backtracked on negative comments he made about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry -- and he's blaming the media for taking his words out of context. The "Succession" star was interviewed by Radio Times and now says he had "enormous sympathy" for the royals after they announced they were leaving Britain's Monarchy in 2020. He previously showed little sympathy for the couple, saying Markle knew what she was getting into when she tied the knot with Harry and even fantasized about marrying Prince Charming. Getty In his Radio Times sit down, Cox said Markle got caught up in a fairytale that had an unhappy ending, referring to the Royal Family. He said the couple was the product of a dying institution (The Monarchy), which was difficult for Meghan to adapt to due to her American upbringing. Cox said Markle understandably viewed The Royal lifestyle as a fairytale, but it all went "horribly wrong” for Meghan and Harry in the … [Read more...] about Brian Cox Backtracks on His Negative Remarks About Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Prince Harry Arrives At London’s High Court For Phone Tapping And Privacy Case
Prince Harry has unexpectedly arrived at London’s High Court as a privacy case against The Daily Mail publisher Associated Press gets underway today. Somewhat ironically given the nature of his appearance, the Duke of Sussex was surrounded by reporters and photographers as he made his way to the High Court’s front gates. The treatment of Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, was one of the key themes of their Netflix doc series Harry & Meghan and his autobiography, Spare . The fact he has chosen to attend in person today shows how seriously the royal is taking this week’s hearings. Harry is one of several high profile claimants accusing The Daily Mail of several privacy breaches, including phone tapping. Associated Press denies the charges and is seeking to get the case dismissed this week during four days of hearings, at the end of which a judge will rule if the claims can go further. Elton John and his husband David Furnish, The Royals and Austin Powers … [Read more...] about Prince Harry Arrives At London’s High Court For Phone Tapping And Privacy Case

No Place For Harry And Meghan In Coronation Procession, Leaked Palace Plans Reveal
Leaked rehearsal plans for the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III reveal that there is currently no place for Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle in the procession to follow the king’s crowning in Westminster Abbey. This revelation by The Times of London follows reports that Harry and Meghan have been invited to the ceremony taking place on May 6 in the UK capital. According to the plans, the King’s shamed brother, the Duke of York, has no place in the royal procession, and his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will not be taking part either. In an event estimated at about the third of the size of HM The Queen’s in 1953, it appears there is a place for “working royals only.” These include the King’s sister the Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the newly titled Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and a few other adult royal cousins. One person who will be joining in is the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, … [Read more...] about No Place For Harry And Meghan In Coronation Procession, Leaked Palace Plans Reveal
Harry And Meghan’s Eviction From UK Home Is Just The Beginning, According To Palace Insiders
The subject of exactly how many homes the British monarch owns has often been the cause of a raised eyebrow – as, over many years, there has invariably been a spare house or country pile lying around and available for any family member deemed in need. However, that looks set to change with the arrival of King Charles on the throne. National press reported last week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been asked to vacate their British home near Windsor Castle, and now the Times of London reports other family members will receive the same news. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were informed in January they would no longer have access to Frogmore Cottage, their post-marital home in the UK, although it has been intimated they will be permitted to stay there, should they decide to travel to the UK for Harry’s father’s Coronation in May. Now it seems the new King plans to phase out subsidised rents for other family members, as a way of reducing costs and raising … [Read more...] about Harry And Meghan’s Eviction From UK Home Is Just The Beginning, According To Palace Insiders
Obama Rips Cable News & Joel McHale Bombs At White House Correspondents’ Dinner
5 th UPDATE – FINAL: (See McHale and Obama videos here and here ) If last year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner with headliner Conan O’Brien was white bread bland, tonight’s event was just painful. In way way over his head, Joel McHale stumbled and sputtered through a routine that got more moans and groans from the packed Washington Hilton ballroom than laughs. With failed one-liners about runaway production, Robert De Niro ’s career choices, Jessica Simpson ’s historical knowledge, the Kardashians’ sex lives, George Clooney ’s political affiliations, Bill Clinton’s qualifications as a grandfather and a slew of other poorly conceived and badly executed jokes, the Community star left the stage after 30-minutes to weak applause from the 2,600 guests. At least he made President Obama ’s speech and his now standard swipes at cable news look good in comparison. Obama’s sharpest line of the night came courtesy of Netflix when Obama sympathized with … [Read more...] about Obama Rips Cable News & Joel McHale Bombs At White House Correspondents’ Dinner
