x Carol Danvers! Intergalactic warfare! The one-eyed Nick Fury! It can only be next year’s standalone Captain Marvel movie, which is all set to light the fuse on what will certainly be a blockbuster lineup of superhero content. But before the likes of Disney and Fox pump out Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home and the long-delayed Dark Phoenix film, 2019 kicks off with Captain Marvel, a film destined to make history regardless of the box office numbers. Which is to say that Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden’s female-fronted spinoff is the first Marvel movie to be headlined by a woman. And what a woman she is. Captain Marvel film offers us a few new gifts ahead of the film’s premiere next March. For one, we see Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers suited up with the classic helmet design. But more than that, seeing Danvers assembled with her Starforce team also highlights a villain from MCU’s past. Or future, depending on how you look at it. The image, shared on the Captain Marvel News Twitter account, gives us a look at not just Carol Danvers, but also fellow Kree warriors Captain Atlas, Minn-Erva, Bron-Char, and Korath. Who? Exactly. You remember Korath the Pursuer from Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. I really enjoy watching videos that go over the less talked about areas of filmmaking. For instance, I recently shared a video that emphasized the importance of a script supervisor because it was really cool. Now I’ve come across a video from Vanity Fair where they brought a poster artist by the name of James Verdesoto in to talk about the posters for the MCU films. While most of the time he talks about how good the posters are, there is one that he doesn’t like, but I’ll keep that a surprise. My main wish for this video is that I do wish that Verdesoto had talked more about why and how certain aspects work instead of going on so much with just a simple description of what is there. It’s still a fun video in my opinion though. Which MCU poster is your favorite? … [Read more...] about A Poster Artist Breaks Down the MCU Poster Designs
Admittedly, Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t the first person to say “I can do this all day,” but it’s become a signature phrase of his since he first uttered it in The First Avenger. So naturally, as is often the case with comic books, the comics will borrow or homage moments that have been made famous by their big budget and big screen counterparts. Case in point, the most recent issue of “Miles Morales: Spider-Man.” While the world at large and general audiences are being introduced to Miles Morales via Into the Spider-Verse, the comic side of things has Miles combatting a familiar face from Spider-Man’s rogues gallery. In “Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1,” Miles has a run-in with the Rhino and after Miles manages to stun him, and exerting a lot of energy in the process, he tells the Rhino that he can do this all day. At the end of Infinity War, Thanos completes his mission and wipes out half of the universe. Before turning to dust, Nick Fury uses a pager to contact Captain Marvel. A new theory now suggests that pager may have been used to contact Carol Danvers in the past, insinuating that she exists in a separate timeline from the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. We know that the Quantum Realm will play a big part in Avengers: Endgame, so could Fury have used a Quantum pager to contact Danvers? The Captain Marvel Prelude comic revealed that Nick Fury liked to think of Carol Danvers as his silver bullet, or last resort. Danvers is reportedly the most powerful hero in the MCU, which is something that Fury does not take lightly and the reason why he waited to get into contact with her. As far as Danvers surviving Thanos' snap, she might not have been in the same timeline for that to happen. Why else would Fury be so confident about using that pager to send a distress call? He had to have known that … [Read more...] about Does Nick Fury Quantum Pager Theory Explain Captain Marvel’s Absence in the MCU?
