Far from a surprise, DC co-Chairmen and CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran confirmed that Waller , the spinoff of their Suicide Squad HBO Max series Peacemaker , was one of the first TV shows they’ll be hatching under their new DC universe, Chapter One, “Gods and Monsters.” The series centers on the mercurial and political Amanda Waller (Oscar winner Viola Davis ), who is a senior civil servant and director of ARGUS. She established the Suicide Squad, in her quest to assemble a team of expendable metahumans who would be used to execute covert operations against dangerous threats. While it already had been out there that Watchmen EP Christal Henry would be writing and executive producing, Gunn and Safran announced that Doom Patrol creator Jeremy Carver is joining her to write Waller. ‘Pathaan’ Director Siddharth Anand On Film’s Success, Bollywood Action Cinema & Future Projects
Yash Raj Films ’ action thriller Pathaan , starring Shah Rukh Khan , is shattering box office records, grossing 591 crore rupees ($73.6M) worldwide in just six days, with an impressive $27.56M coming from overseas. DC Bosses Peter Safran and James Gunn in an unveiling of their DC Universe Chapter 1 yesterday haven’t shut the door on Ezra Miller ’s possible return as the Flash . Despite the actor’s avalanche of 2022 tabloid headlines, the duo expressed their elation for Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, due out on June 16 after a long Covid delay, and how it will reset the DC universe as the hand-off occurs between the Snyder-verse and the new Safran/Gunn-verse. That said, still TBD on whether Miller reprising the role, however, Safran was very upbeat on the actor’s recovery. Said Safran, “Ezra is completely committed to their recovery.
