EXCLUSIVE: After playing one of the chefs behind a Chicago sandwich shop in the FX series The Bear, Ayo Edebiri has found a new team to join as sources tell Deadline she has boarded Marvel Studios ’ Thunderbolts in a new secret role. Edebiri joins an ensemble that was announced during Disney’s D23 event last year that includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster. The film will bow on July 26, 2024. Marvel had no comment. Jake Schreier is set as director of the new Marvel tentpole. Black Widow scribe Eric Pearson is penning the script, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige producing. Disney / Marvel Studios ’ Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrived on tracking today with a projected 4-day $120M opening per industry sources. The threequel arrives in theaters on Feb. 17 and is the first in an avalanche of largely weekly tentpole fare which has been absent from the marketplace since the summer. The interim president of the University of Louisville told Rick Pitino the school believes FBI documents incriminate him and his coaching staff in an NCAA bribery/recruiting scandal. Despite the fact that neither Pitino nor any member of his staff was mentioned by name in the FBI charging documents, Gregory Postel sent Pitino a letter on Sept. 27 saying the investigation clearly points to him. "The information provided by the Office of the U.S. Attorney ... is disturbing and unprecedented in its allegations of willful misconduct, violations of NCAA Bylaws, and dishonesty, and serve to severely damage the reputation of the University of Louisville." Rick Pitino says there's not a SHRED of evidence proving he did anything wrong to justify his firing -- and has lawyered up in what seems to be a prelude to a legal war with Louisville. As we previously reported, the University of Louisville says it put Pitino on "unpaid administrative leave" in the wake of an FBI probe of an Adidas exec, who was allegedly bribing recruits to attend Adidas sponsored schools, including UL. While Pitino hasn't been formally accused of a crime -- and no other Louisville staffer has been accused either -- the school took action anyway ... and Rick is pissed. Rick Pitino is suing the University of Louisville Athletic Association for 38 MILLION DOLLARS ... claiming they breached his contract when they gave him the ax in October. In the lawsuit -- filed in U.S. District Court -- Pitino's attorney is attempting to recoup the $4.3 million his client was to make each year through 2026 ... 9 seasons worth of salary. The University of Louisville basketball team -- ranked #19 in the country -- has banned itself from the NCAA tourney for 1 year over possible rules violations stemming from an alleged prostitution scandal. The allegations made headlines back in October when self-described madam Katina Powell ... claimed U of L staff paid her more than $10,000 for dancing and sex services from her stable of escorts. In her book, Powell singles out ex-Louisville staffer Andre McGee -- a graduate assistant who became director of basketball operations -- claiming he was the point man who paid Powell. Getty Penn State basketball coach Pat Chambers resigned Wednesday -- following an investigation into new allegations of misconduct. The University says the new allegations were made following a report by The Undefeated back in July that Chambers made racially insensitive comments to a black player. The player, Rasir Bolton , told The Undefeated that Chambers made a comment to him referencing a metaphorical "noose" back in 2019. Bolton claims Chambers approached him and said, "I want to be a stress reliever for you. You can talk to me about anything. I need to get some of this pressure off you. I want to loosen the noose that's around your neck." Bolton said of Chambers' comment, "Due to other interactions with Coach, I knew this was no slip of the tongue." IMAGN Jessie Lemonier -- a former outside linebacker for the Detroit Lions -- has passed away, the team announced Thursday morning. He was only 25 years old. Details surrounding Lemonier's death are not yet known. The Lions broke the sad news with a statement, saying they're "shocked and saddened" by Lemonier's death.
